I remember falling in love with all the Gap Khaki commercials when I was 12 or 13. Nostalgia.

Great commercial. Fits right in with all the other dance commrecials Gap put out. Simple message..buy khakis and have fun dancing in them..whatever kind you do..swing, country, whatever.

This campaign was genius. I don't know why they went downhill so quickly after this. Different board of directors?

Love Dwight, but Khaki's and Cowboys = EPIC FAIL!!!!

The writers' strike of the late 2000s, the invention of Smartphones and DVRs, and the rise of social media screwed advertising forever, especially because you can skip an ad now.

The ankle-length khaki skirt was SUCH a turn on. You had to beat the men away when you wore one.

Unabhängig von der Wergung: Gibt's eigentlich irgendwo eine Gruppe wo Line Dance genauso getanzt wird? Das sieht richtig klasse aus!

I'm thinking they should've used line dancing to push the tight jeans that Dwight usually wore, if anything! Love the song and dancing, but using it to push the wrong item I think..

I remember that, and he laughed on The Tonight Show that a longer version of this ad made a perfect video for the song.

@justboycrazy4515 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I remember those. Gap did those ads. There were three of them: one had "America", one had "Play it cool", and one had the "Mambo" dance off. Hope this helps.

wow...i remember most of the 90's gap commercial but not this one. perhaps I was traumatized then and completely blocked this from my memory cuzz this is...disturbing.
@ksb7815 жыл бұрын
anyone remembers the Gap ads that took scenes from Westside story? I remember there being two; one reworking 'America', and the other(a gap jeans ad) reworking 'Keep it cool'. A friend of mine says it wasn't Gap that did those ads, but I could have sworn it was. Am I wrong?

@laura83park Yeah I'm sick of those commercials too. It's time to start using REAL people not ugly manikins.

I'm trying to find the Khakis Mambo ad - you're right, it was the Gap, because there is one that uses 'Cool' which is on KZbin. But the Mambo was my favorite and I haven't located it yet.
