Excellent video. You showed everything we need to know. Only wish you would have had a light into the differential spider gears to show more of how the pin and things are. Thanks so much for sharing with us. Greatly appreciated.

Careful using the old bearing to press the new one in. Sometimes they won't come back out. Then you have to pull two at once.

Really nice video. I had no idea how to do it right without looking at video. Should put replace seal in title as well. Very well made, even love the little background music. Nice job.

Whoa. Wait. Hold on a sec! You went to NAPA.....and they actually had something you could purchase that you needed!? The three near me seem to take a special pride in saying "no, we don't have that....but we can order it".... Seriously, a small block Chevy Oil filter?! "Napa Know How" phooey! more like "Napa No Parts"...... Anyway. Very informative video. I need to do the same to my Jeep.

Hahaha "Napa No Parts"! I'm fortunate that the NAPA by my house is a friggin' warehouse and has a huge inventory. I recommend downloading their app, it's actually pretty good. Best of luck!

Great vídeo, tell me please how do the wheel bearings keep their lubrication, since it gets long time without service and regrease? Does the differential gear fluid reach that bearing to the Point of the axle,? Dear,

The grease in there should be good for at least 30k miles or every two years roughly.

im needing to replace my axle seal as well and wondering the same thing. i have a 96 xj and wonder whether i have to remove the washers or just remove the 4 bolts off the back of the hub to take the assembly off
@bruce6661874 жыл бұрын
May I ask how you knew they needed to be replaced? Did you have road noise or feel it under acceleration? Mine has road noise I replaced the front time to move to the rear and was just curious..

Great video!!!! Questions your jack stands, are the rest curved around the axle. They look flat. Two are they sitting on a hard surface that will not give way under the load?

I have a right rear axle seal leak , How can i tell if i have a Dana or C8.25 , On ,my 93 Jeep grand cherokee laredo I have the rubber plug on rear diff to fill fluid
@takeiteasy_tv5 жыл бұрын
Mine also leaked before I got the aftermarket Diff cover. The C8.25 has a square bottom, if you look at pictures online you can see the difference between it and the Dana.

Hey...does the seal need to be flush with the tube? Mine is in about an 1/8th of an inch.

I have oil in my drum, I guess I've got bad seal. Do u think I can change just the seal without changing the bearings?
@takeiteasy_tv5 жыл бұрын
I think you can, yeah. It might be very difficult to remove the old seal though.
