Wow this is awesome. Very inspiring. I started a couple of years ago, much like you but my garden is no where near as brilliant looking as yours. Wow! I'd be so tempted to make a water feature in that walled area near your patio if i had that space. I always look forward to your videos, as being in shropshire, we're bound to have a similar climate, so i get a lot of inspiration from the plants you have chosen. Keep them coming 😊

Lovely to hear from you Jack, great minds clearly think alike. Guess what I’ve been looking for over the last week? A water feature for that exact spot!! I’ve seen some that can create a water fall effect and I’m considering the idea! My tiered planter is pretty much set in stone just behind that wall but I reckon I can work around it. Thanks so much for the feedback and support. Hope all is well in your space. These plants size up quickly so it shouldn’t take too long to get things going. Have a lovely day.

@tropiclaud9064 Never!! 😂 Well, I look forward to seeing a water feature on one of your videos soon. I have a child's play shed at the bottom of my garden. Once outgrown I plan to incorporate a greenhouse and a water feature. All plans for the future at the moment however. My space has been ok, just tidying now for the winter so that hopefully next year it can be somewhere near as lush as yours. Take care now.

My story here is I was from a tropic place, feel so cold here and sick of deciduous and pines. tropical leafy plants makes me feel warm and at home, i bought my fist tropical plant Pheonix canariensis from Lidl( I begged my parents) cause it was cheap. Then I figured out yucca elephantipes the houseplants are hardy so I bought some ( also from Lidl cause they cheap). Then I added some fatsia japonica( also cheap). I also added hosta when they’re on discount in autumn. Later I found out there’s hardy banana trees so I ordered two Musa basjoo, they’re now still indoor I’ll plant them out in spring. My plan for later is to buy hardy agaves and aloes . Also thinking of adding different palm trees like Chinese windmill palm , Mediterranean fan palm , Bangalow palms or sago palms.also thinking of adding cordylines. But still need to get them one by one cuz I’m still in secondary
@tropiclaud10 ай бұрын
I love this. You brought home, to you! And with supermarkets like Lidl making tropical-style plants affordable, it’s possible to achieve an exotic garden right here in the UK. The palms and agaves will certainly take your garden to the next level. I also bought my sago in a supermarket. Don’t be afraid to buy small as they will establish well and be away in no time. And one at a time is just fine. Rome wasn’t built in a day! All the best with your gardening journey!
@fansaaga40339 ай бұрын
can sago palms go outdoor yearound? missed the chance last month i thought theyre not hardy😢
@tropiclaud9 ай бұрын
@@fansaaga4033 Hi there, it depends on where you are and how cold your winter gets. Sago palms would be vulnerable in long-term exposure to frost and the fronds would go brown. They may return, but it takes such a long time for them to grow in the UK that the palm would not look at its best for a long time. I have brought my sago indoors for the winter into an unheated conservatory. It’s doing fine in there. I will bring it back out in Spring. Hope this helps!
@fansaaga40339 ай бұрын
ok im in dublin zone 9 maybe ikk get them next time if ive luck. are there any tropical fruit trees that can thrive here?
@tropiclaud9 ай бұрын
@@fansaaga4033 I bought mine in Morrisons supermarket, you may find them in your local supermarkets in late spring/early summer. As for fruit trees, we can grow pomegranates, figs, Chinese loquat, and even kiwis.
