I would love to see a comparison with both units having the most current software updates and the correct balls (RPT & RCT) for each unit. You would need a camera based unit for the baseline to compare accuracy. It's very hard to get a true assessment between these two units with almost every comparison being flawed and skewed one way or the other.

Good comparison video! I went with the Garmin R10 w Awesome Golf. I like the idea of a one time cost and not worrying about an annual subscription. From what I gather both units are great for anyone who wants a launch monitor on a budget.

I have the r10 only. And i pretty much only use it at the range. But I am going on my 3rd year now of having it. Having no extra fees over those years adds up. Tiny differences in distances and spin dont matter to me as much as im using the range balls that arent as good anyways and vary ball to ball on age and quality even then.

It is a great range device. How do you find the numbers though? I feel like with the r10 and not having a range ball algorithm that most of the numbers won’t reflect the same as on course with a premium ball ?

The R10 is a Doppler radar, it doesn’t see colour!

MLM2PRO takes the cake for its measurement capabilities. The day of reckoning will come when trial subscriptions run out. On principal I don't like core features like spin measurment being paywalled. I've owned both with the correct golf balls and the R10 was simply too unpunishing with side spin to be good for my game

Your video have been so helpful in deciding between these two products. Do you think the ball dots are just as accurate as the Callaway RPT balls? I play ProV1s so it makes me lean towards the R10, but if I can use those balls with the ball dots and be just as accurate it seems like the MLM2 is the better move.

Disappointing that putting ball dots on non rpt balls work considering I just put the rpt pattern on 1 dozen balls a couple of hours ago..

They normally do work just fine, I think a couple of mine must have come off early which probably mucked up the readings

I got really mixed results.. some were only up to 1500 rpms as low as 900 with a pitching wedge. Then had some as high as 12000 with a 5 iron

Hey Dmax, I've got myself into a review black hole trying to decide between these units. I'll be using it outside in the backyard and am leaning towards the R10 for the club head metrics. What's your perspective on having club head (path & face) vs spin axis? What's more important and useful for training and dialling in your swing? Cheers

Between these 2 the MLM2PRO is better. It gives you a lot more features. Both will give accurate numbers but MLM2PRO kills the R10 on spin axis and added benefits

I'm new at golf, but it looks like you might be using the awesome golf app - which to my surprise was showing shot tracer when hitting into a net - i like that! I recently bought a GoSports Pro 10x8 net - can i get shot trace and sim courses with either (or both) monitor when hitting into my net - would i have to lie to the mlm2 pro that i was in sim mode not net mode - THANKS for your help !!

You need face and path numbers to improve your swing. If you want carry and total that’s fine but that’s not enough information

Well that’s helpful but you need to know the face to path numbers are accurate. With the mlm2pro it records video of you impact vision and club coming into the ball. This is actually way better and more beneficial and more reliable than face to path from a radar unit that can’t actually see your clubface at impact like a GC quad can

@@chachifeere Trackman use a camera from behind the ball but it’s still a radar unit. Check out TXGs review of Trackman vs Quad and how they differ in ball flights because in an indoor environment radar units in general struggle to read as accurately without the ball flight but outdoors they’re far better
