Cancer is such a horrible thing. Not trying to get all religious up in your post, but this is NOT something a divine being created. It's more than that. I am so glad you are still around although I don't know you. My mom was diagnosed with small-cell lung cancer in November of 2008. She had a 15% survival rate. It is now November of 2014 and I spoke to her today.

I'm not going to lie, I'm not a huge country fan..but my grandmother was a 2x breast cancer survivor, unfortunately it came back in November 13, 2013 we lost her beautiful soul 1/27/14. I got up missing her so bad and wanted to hear this song and of all I picked this one. MY HEART STARTING BEATING SO FAST!!! I know it was her telling me she's free and happy. I'll love Garth Brooks forever for this beautiful tribute to this woman fighting cancer. God bless her. Ty for putting a smile in my broken heart.

I was there and it was such a great moment. This was Garth's last show done the day on Friday Nov 7th. The place was packed and we all stood a mere two hours and cheered. No one wanted to sit including myself as it was such a awesome show of like one I never have seen. This song 'The Dance' has to become my favorite songs of all time. There is no one but Garth that can sing it like him. The Dance has become so much of a song to me that I had asked my family to play it at my funeral the day I am laid to rest. The reason for that is because of the things I alone had gone through in my life. Having four wonderful children and having a divorce because my wife left me and loved the bottle more after almost 29 years of marriage. Although if I hadn't taken the chance and married I never would of had my great children and my six grandchildren. Life indeed is a Dance. It's also mine! :)

This is my absolute favorite song by Garth. I couldn't help but cry when I saw the ladies sign: "This morning chemo.Tonight enjoying the dance." It reminded me of my mom, who was diagnosed with Leukemia in November of last year. My mom has always been strong, and she was a fighter the whole way through. I'm thankful to God everyday that she's now in remission and doing very well. Thank you Garth for this beautiful song. And thank you mom for the dance. Love always, your daughter.

I watched this this morning and cried and smiled. This is one of my favorite GB songs, the meaning so powerful. I NEEDED TO SEE THIS TODAY!!!!! This morning, I remember my nephew, Josh, who passed away just over 3 years ago at 5 1/2 years old of complications of leukemia. Today is our celebration of his 9th birthday. We miss him so much! His amazing smile, his contagious laugh, his caring heart. Today, we are asking others to do something for someone else in his memory. Doesn't have to be anything that costs a dime, but just doing something for someone else. We're calling it Acts of Kindness Day. You can do it in memory of him or in memory of honor of someone you love. If nothing else, just say a prayer for those who've lost someone they love to cancer.

At 28 years old, my husband was diagnosed with cancer this year while I was pregnant with our second child. In October, we welcomed another daughter and found out he is cancer free. October was an amazing month after a really hard year. Cancer sucks and chemotherapy is rough. My prayers go out to all of those fighting cancer that they may find peace and comfort during their battle, and that they may have good results as well. We wanted to go to Justin Timberlake's concert in August, but my husband got chemo that morning and we didn't want to risk it. Good for this lady being so brave and enjoying her life, and good for Garth Brooks making it even more special.

I have never considered myself a "Country Guy" I mainly listen to Rock and Classic Rock and Blues. But there is a lot of "Classic Country" I do like. OK with that said, have you ever noticed? That when you see moments like this. 99% of the time it's a "Country" singer. I guess because Country people are more down to earth descent and good people. I also think Country singers and musicians appreciate their fans a little more than the other genres. BTW I also like Garth Brooks, I think out of all the modern Country singers. He sticks the closest to what GOOD Country music is all about. Like the GREAT Country singers of the past.

aodfan That doesn't surprise me a bit. I usually have a good feel for people. I can usually size people up at first meeting. I usually give them a chance til they prove me wrong, but I am usually right. The feel I get from Garth Brooks is that, deep down inside. He is a very caring and compassionate person. I think he's one of the few celebrities who actually care about his fans. Unlike people like Mark Wahlberg who wouldn't even "High Five" a man he was sitting next to at a basketball game. I mean come on! He's sitting next to you and a fan of the same team you are a fan of. You can't give him a "High Five", pathetic. But like I said in my earlier post Country people are just better than that.

Garth is a legend, this is why I love him because of things like this, I love all the country singers but there is just something different about him, he always has a heart for the people.

I'm a metalhead/Rocker at heart. Used to work security during concert to both earn extra money and get to see the shows. Garth Brooks is by far the classiest and kindest performer I've ever seen. Prayers to the woman in this video, hoping your well!

This is was not staged and he didn't do it as a promotional tool. Garth does stuff like this all the time. And if you are still doubting if this is real then let me send you a picture of the signed guitar he gave to me for my daughter. I had a poster sign that said "My Unanswered Prayer Born July 8th, 1992" at a concert in Seattle, WA in July 1999. (The local news did a story so you can look it up). My daughter and his daughter are born on the same day. He saw my sign, finished the song he was singing and called me up to the stage to ask me what the sign meant to me and I explained what it meant. My daughter had made his daughter a present that I had put on stage. He told me where he is from when someone gives his daughter a present he gives ones back. He then unstrapped the guitar he was playing, asked me how to spell her name and signed it to her "Happy Birthday, Love and Hugs, Garth Brooks". He then sang the song and dedicated it to my little girl. And at the end of the concert he again told me to tell her Happy Birthday from him and give her a hug and kiss. He had sold out 6 shows in Seattle in 4 hours so I don't think he was bumming for fans and needed a publicity stunt to get more. He is just a genuine guy!

Garth did this in Saskatchewan Canada a while back. He saw a woman about 5 rows back with a sign saying it was her 90th birthday and first concert. He brought her up and got on his knees and sang the dance in memory of her deceased husband

Garth is just one cool guy. Extremely talented, and a heart even bigger than his talent. As an African-American, I can truly say good music knows no race or ethnicity. It truly transcends boundaries of culture and class. Just an amazing performer!!

Jeff from Jersey, I happen to know the woman that Garth Brooks stopped the show for. She is 100% as portrayed, and is not affiliated with the Brooks show in any way.She was not looking for sympathy. She just wanted to show Mr. Brooks the depth of her loyalty as a fan. Mr. Brooks should be commended for what he did and for giving God praise. God Bless You, Garth Brooks.
