Thank you Gary, even though I moved to Toronto I still try to download MOTD. I grew up watching Des Lynham, Alan Hansen and Gary Lineker. Was it Mexico 86 when he scored a hatrick over Poland? My memory isn't that good after a brain injury, but my long term memory isn't as bad. I know he won the golden boot at mexico 86 and we might of done better than that if we had VAR then. Maradona would of been sent off for a clear handball and things would of been a lot different. 🙄

One of my earliest memories of football as a kid... Waking up to watch Gary Lineker's hat-trick against Poland in Mexico 86 to take England out of the group stage and into that fateful game against Maradona. From then until now Gary has always been one of my favorite people in the game... Always humble, gracious, funny, informative and a genuine nice bloke who sticks up for what he believes in... End of an era, truly! I'm 30 now and Linekar has taken me through the highs and lows of English football since I was a child and to me he is football personified, or what it ought to be at least. Friendly, fair, sportsmanlike and passionate. Thank you Gary for your voice, heard around the world ❤
