@@tjitse3916 Rory was so unique and shunned everyone else's plans for him to be a "star".. He just wanted to play despite being recruited twice by Cream and the Stones and wouldn't allow singles to be released even though the record companies promised #1 singles. That's sticking to your guns. Check out,if not familiar with Band of Friends. It's his bass player and drummer with Davy Knowles {in U.S.} and a different line up in Europe. They play only Rory's music and are damn good .. I could go on forever about Rory . He was my musical hero.

Anyway this song was the last he did of the encores and after the show i was like in Heaven!! During the '90s Gary mostly played Blues but kept this song since it has a like blues vibe. At what would become the end of his career he returned to his '80's hits. R.I.P. Gary

Gary could make that guitar talk, with no doubt. Quick story about this song. When my wife (of 25 years now) and I first got together, she played me some lame country song she thought should be "our" song, I said said give this a listen and played this song for her. She immediately fell in love with it and Gary. To this day, I can get her mad as a hornet at me, and I'll wait for the right moment, put this song on, and she'll be sitting on my lap and all is well! She cried when he passed. Love his music, and I place him high on the list of GOATs. I would suggest you check out The Messiah Will Come Again, a Roy Buchanon (another underrated guitarist) cover. No vocals, but his guitar sings. You will not be disappointed! Continue to explore and enjoy the journey!

One of my influences as a player ... Gary had a face like a welders bench and the Blues instincts of a god :bows:. I first saw him with his band G-Force when I went to see Whitesnake in the early 80's and was one of those occasions where the support act was not a disappointment. His talent would never be seen in the music industry of today because he was not 'cute' enough. And your reaction to this was glorious

Hi India. I am glad you discovered the brilliance of Gary Moore. In my opinion, and I think many feel the same, Gary is one of the few Guitarplayers ever who was able to lay his heart and soul in his playing and was able to let his guitar sing, cry and speak to the audience. I am happy you felt that too. He was one of the greatest ever. A God given talent. Unfortunately he passed away far to young. When you want to hear more from Gaary Moore I recommend his songs "The prophet" and the Messiah will return. Other people already mentioned other songs. But I am sure the two I just told you will move your heart and soul. Since you are an emotional woman I am sure you will love those. Keep up the good work dear.

There are some (not that many) performances that I would categorise as genius and this is one of them. This is not about guitar technique, there may be guitarists who can beat his overall technique but the mood, style, passion and energy he puts into this make it genius. The facial expressions aren’t unusual they represent what people with musical taste and discernment feel about the playing of this impresario.

Also heavily into Zeppelin Floyd Sabbath etc. But also in 1976 I got my first taste of Parliament and was blown away, much as you were with Gary Moore. Funk and jazz became the order of the day.
