I wouldn't have fallen in love with Hardcore the way I have without Keith & James. I owe everything to those 2. Keith was the vocalist on the best straight edge songs ever written.

Keith Barney was a legend to me while growing up in SoCal. His vocals in Throwdown were my favorite, then seeing him play in 18 Visions, AND hearing him on Death By Stereo, and early Adamantium… the dude is a freaking legend. Played in all my favorite bands growing up. (Posting this before watching the episode and have been stoked to watch it!)

Always wanted to hear perspective from Keith, I remember the footage on the 18v album or the obsession in the studio recording! Thanks Garza!

This was such a great discussion, similarly, I grew up in the Orange County/IE hardcore scene. Throwdown was the band that got me into straight edge, The Drive Me Dead and then You Don't Have to Be Blood cds. The lyrics resonated with me and seeing them countless times live at Chain and Showcase are memories I still hold close. I've been edge for 20 years now and it's a value I've held close and credit with pushing me to land a career I love, build a family, and keeping me level headed. These podcasts are amazing, brings back so many memories and keeps the hardcore scene fire inside. I've moved to FL back in 2014, it's been cool seeing so many guests who help keep the scene alive. Keep up the great work, and thank you Keith for the open dialogue, and footprint you helped carve for the OC Straight Edge/ hardcore scene!

Keith is one of best dudes…… I discovered straight edge at around 13 through Throwdown, Eighteen Visions, and Bleeding Through... For me it’s all about not doing drugs, drinking or smoking... I’ve lived by this for almost 22yrs.

So much to unpack from this interview. I liked the parts where you all discussed the technical aspects of the guitar pedals and amps. I also liked how keith unraveled the history of 18v first breakup. Also it makes sense that i always loved 18 visions because a lot of the music and artistic expressions he mentioned are stuff i enjoy. One key take away and i can be wrong but it would be great to see keith engineer an album (i see similarities to him and machine). Great video!!! 1st time seeing your channel

This is dope as fuck. But also, the whole "Fashioncore" thing was meant to be a big ass joke to piss off all the east coast tough guys, and the poerviolence scene.
