Without them it didn't seal along the sides of the hammock very well.

What a neat channel you have here! I graduated from Pennfield, now in Springfield, planning on hanging in Ulster, but will be solo, so need everything nailed down before I go. Are you able to get things as light and packable as the mass produced items? I am planning on bicycling if possible, and my Shoe De Bakers are the only alternative, renting a car is out of my league, so weight and bulk need to be minimal. Thanks for this video library, and Happy Hanging!

I would say my homemade gear is comparably light and compressible as mass-produced gear but it's customized to my needs. Thanks for the kind words.

I shamelessly stole your design. imo, it's the best way to do the CDT/BBB UQ. works really well for me. The only difference I did, that I liberated from someone else, was I ripped the 60" stitches, leaving long tubes. it lofts better that way, noticeably. either way, I'm glad you posted this as I was stalling doing a clew mod, and this is better imo

Awesome! Thanks for giving it a try and sharing your experience with it.

Good work on that quilt. I am surprised that the Snugfit quilt is no longer in production. It was a design well ahead of its time. How did you decide on the length of the white ripstop pieces that were added at each end?

Thanks Brian. The length of the white bit was a bit of a SWAG, I just made it so it would be shorter than my hammock so that I would have room to adjust it.... too long would have been bad.

They are not the same as the Costco DTs. The fill power is less. In my opinion they do not have comparable loft. I ended up returning the BBB when it was apparent that it didn't loft as much as the Costco version, most likely do to the less FP or less fill.

Thanks for the info. I knew that the packaging showed the bbb at 650 fp and the cdt at 700 but I had read on hammock forums that the little tag that are on the quilt of each brand had the same "part number", if you will. For me I don't have much choice, I'm not a costco member, nor is there one in my town, I also question my own ability to discern a 50 FP difference. :)

What length of material did you add to each end of the throw? Or, another way of asking, how long is the quilt?
@redoleary67054 жыл бұрын
The white bits add about 13-14 inches to each end, the overall length is about 94 inches. These are rough measurements as I measured it while installed. I think the key is to just make sure it's a couple of inches shorter than you hammock and you'll be ok.
