I've been having an increasingly hard time this last decade as a single mom because while so much attention in the churches has been spent on the homosexuality movement, people have gotten distracted from the church's responsibility to help families look after widows and orphans. Domestic violence and child abuse leads moms like me to leave my abusive family, living as a widow and orphan (and my kids as orphans every time I get sick). But technically my original family is still alive, so we don't get any support, emotionally or otherwise. The free-love movement is so vague that it also (probably not on purpose) ushers in the stuff that creates pedophilia and weakens the abilities of moms to protect their kids. People who abuse children can consider their acts loving (sexual love or strong discipline) and make moms like me look freakishly intolerant for being uncomfortable with the abuse, neglect, abandonment, and weakened ability to defend the children's needs. If moms like me were to verbally support or allow even our own children to mistreat our other own children, we would also show cause for the state to come in and legally remove our children from our care. So yeah, it's really important for us to analyze what is Eros love and what is Agape love and where those two intertwine. Eros love without Agape love creates hellish relationships for at least the weaker party, if not both, in a lot of situations and is the major drive behind the fastest growing crime on the planet--sex trafficking. If you get a chance to point this out to others, people like me would appreciate it since we get so little support in our societal roles to protect the youth. Thanks!

Please, don't judge Christians because of these people. Note that one group of people don't represent the majority. Some Christians actually don't mind gay people, heck, I've even seen gay people attending the church that I go to. They escaped and God (the all forgiving God) turned Lot's wife into a pile of salt just because she turned around and watched her city being destroyed (including little children and every other innocent person). After that the daughters got Lot drunk and had sex with him so they could get pregnant. How do you "interpret that according to the time and society the Bible was written in"? Because the only thing that people find wrong with this story is homosexuality.

Gay men aren't the only people who must pay the ultimate price for their allegedly ungodly transgressions. Leviticus 20:10 sternly asserts that if a married man commits adultery with another man's wife, both must be immediately dispatched. Girls don't escape biblical wrath, either. According to Deuteronomy 22:20-21, if a girl has the temerity to have sex before marriage, the men of her town must stone her to death at her father's doorstep. Presumably, that could include one of the men who had caused her to lose her virginity in the first place. If a man kills a woman's child, she cannot raise a peep of protest, because Timothy 2:12 forbids women from having any authority over men. If she forgets her place for a moment, she runs the risk of being branded a "sorceress," and Exodus 22:18 commands that sorceresses not be allowed to live. And Judges 19:25-28 seems to condone tossing a woman out into the streets to be raped by a gang of men. The Bible doesn't spare daughters, either. Judges 11:30-31 and 34-35 make it clear that a man may sacrifice his daughter to thank God for giving him a triumph. And it is not just daughters who can be slain in sacrifice. In Genesis 22:2 God commands Abraham to take his son Isaac to a mountaintop and sacrifice him as a burnt offering. And the child can't protest his or her fate, because Leviticus 20:9 insists that talking back to a parent warrants the death penalty. The two groups that fare the best in the Bible are husbands and slave masters. Ephesians 5:22 says that the word of a man is law in his household and that his wife must obey him unquestioningly in whatever he says and does. And 1 Peter 2:13 and 18 asserts that slaves must serve their masters not only faithfully but in "reverence." And this rule doesn't APPLY just to slaves of "kind and charitable" slave masters but to slaves of lousy and brutal ones. But at least there's a caveat: Leviticus 25:44-45 only permits the enslavement of foreigner
