We are all angry. We live in an unjust world. The so-called rules-based system, the rhetoric surrounding human rights, the endless speeches on democracy and freedom - all of it turned out to be hollow. The death and destruction in gaza is juxtaposed with the triviality with which the political elites in the west talk of human life. We are angry.
How does a Muslim deal with this visceral anger. How do we deal with the inhumanity of these western elites yet stay true to ourselves and who we are? Should we learn to stop being angry and live our lives in a comatose state or utilise this anger in a just direction?
Today we have Dr Kamal Abu Zahra to help us understand anger from an Islamic perspective.
My guest today is Dr Kamal Abu Zahra is a lecturer in Islamic studies and in Islamic law who has an expertise in the contemporary fiqh.

Over the past few months - and I say this as a white British person - I have been in absolute awe at the way the Muslim community have handled this vile situauaton, both online, in the mainstream media, in public, in debates, in interviews, scholars old n young, Lawyers Doctors, Historians, the list goes on. They have been polite, very gentlemanly, very focused, very calm and very GENUINE. I really take my hat off to their conduct over this gross situation. The general Zionist attitude on the other hand is disgusting? Its Rude, loud, obnoxious, insulting, and mostly baseless at that!! Your faith shines through you all. And all I can do is respect that. ❤🇵🇸👏

Muslims are busy doing Ramadan shopping, booking iftar restaurants and social Ramadan gathering is rife atm. These very Muslims are showing concern by making a dua for people of Gaza. I see total disregard and disrespect tbh. They think just by doing small dua they've done their bit while their lifestyle remind exactly the same before..

Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: The best of your rulers are those whom you love and who love you, who invoke God's blessings upon you and you invoke His blessings upon them. And the worst of your rulers are those whom you hate and who hate you and whom you curse and who curse you. It was asked (by those present): Shouldn't we overthrow them with the help of the sword? He said: No, as long as they establish prayer among you. If you then find anything detestable in them. With all due respect, brothers and sisters, the time for talking is over, and the time for action is here. Our Prophet PBUH summarised it very well 'We will be numerous in number, but what will be weak about us is the love of the duniya' Stop loving this world and start working for the Ummah. First we need a true muslim country where we can start the work for the Ummah. I can not see one at the moment. Can you? Stop letting your culture and nationalism supercede your deen. These are Colonial remnants in your psyche. Muslims have no borders and no self interest or national interest. Wake up and start working like the Western countries do. They are united in their support of evil as states even with help from some of our own states. We need to reclaim Islam and we need to revive the Ummah. Get to work and stop talking all the time. Allah SWT helps those who helps themselves. If you sit at home and think Allah SWT will just send you a miracle. Think again! We dont deserve it with our current state. Palestinians are going to Jannah 100%. The question is, where will we be going?

Yeah, how do we deal with anger over what hamas has done to the Jewish people? How do we deal with the cold-hearted palestinian people who cheered and laughed when they heard of the atrocities done to the Jewish people? How do we deal with the propaganda and untruths told by hamas and the complicity of the palestinian people to make Israel look bad by genocide, which isn't true. How do you deal with the truth being twisted, and turned around in saying Israel needn't defend itself? Don't forget: hamas started this whole thing with the palestinians' approval.

What does sticking to your principles mean? Believing the Qur'an is of single-authorship? That is a folly. It is by fighting irrationality and dogma that faith communities can better themselves. If Sunni Islam ditches the Qur'an and "prophet" Muhammad, then, yes, Sunni Islam might have some potential.@@yasmeenyaya

You're right. I apologise. This is how I would rephrase what I wrote. If that is your individual belief, then that is fine. But the origins of the Qur'an as dogma is a belief that is unfortunately imposed on people, as is the nature of Muhammad's revelations. There is no freedom to contest religious dogma on the Qur'an's origins in Muslims societies. This is the problem.@@yasmeenyaya
