Ok so a bit of cheating bc I read your comment before I watched the video, but I initially saw it and said "Oh cool you can adjust where the mass is to adjust the difficulty of the pull" BUT THEN I saw that it moved with the rear tires and my jaw dropped: what an ingenious idea

Few things: 1. Seeing a bigger version of the tonk would be fun 2. With the sled, it looks like you're striping the carpet like if you were striping a yard 3. (For legal reasons this is a joke) since your cat seems so interested we should do a pull test on it. Turn it into a valiant stallion that shall gallop forth with the lego chariot!

Great contest as always! On 42129 notice its wheels don't slip while others do. It might be the cause of an issue as I saw before with new motors they usually stop when they cannot spin. With a little less friction (either with different tires or on different surface) it may perform better I think.
@GazRsExtremeBrickMachines3 жыл бұрын
Hey I’ve been playing about with it to find the issue! If I put it on its back wheels they do still slip in the tyre but on all fours it hasn’t the torque! Weirdly the motors are not cutting out like normal powered up hubs do? It just keeps on plodding along under huge stress. This could have damaged them slightly I think. And thank you😀
@JazzbLu3 жыл бұрын
Nice work! I wonder how each would perform if they were all the same weight? I'd like to see the Volvo 42114 be fixed and try again.
@GazRsExtremeBrickMachines3 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks! If the drivetrain was strong enough I think the Volvo but the 12 to 20 tooth bevel gears could not take it! I’ve never actually broke a gear quite like they broke! They were secured by beams either side so there was zero play and the 12 tooth was completely shredded! I tried twice! The only way to strengthen would be to have two sets to even the torque but there wasn’t enough room unfortunately. The 42099 8 tyre also had huge torque but not enough weight.

Some of the designs seem like they would benefit from more weight over the wheels, assuming it doesn't put too much extra load on the motor it should make it further. Really anything with spinning tires/tracks

Interesting idea, I like it! I do wonder what happened with the Zetros, I feel like that should have pulled a lot further than it did. @GazRsExtremeBrickMachines3 жыл бұрын
Hey there thank you! Yeah the gearing in the others is the only thing giving them a chance, the tank and golf cart have some power! The Zetros was weird! At first I thought it’s just not got enough power but then it had second winds of life when it should have been struggling more so I’m guessing the hub or motor! I have put it through unusual stress trying to make the drivetrain unbreakable 😯

I loved the golf cart it was the only vehicle that seemed up to the task just because of its speed I'm just hoping you are gonna try this again if you make a similar version of it just with all wheel drive and could you maybe change the electronics in the zetros just to be sure I think it's unfair just leaving it like this because we know what it can do
@GazRsExtremeBrickMachines3 жыл бұрын
Hey Philip I agree! The cart acted more like a proper tractor pull with its speed! The tank was almost there! The rest just relied on gearing, so slow but had some mighty torque. The Zetros is confusing me! I’ve since switched hubs which made no difference and if I put just the rear two tyres on the floor it still spins the rims inside the tyre with ease! It did great at the tug of war but that’s more down to grip/weight. When I filmed the 42099 6x6 tug of war the air was slightly damp which I think helped as the tyres were slipping more in the carpet. Whilst against the Volvo it was doing similar to here! The other builds here do have a lot more wheel torque after their mods. That sled was quite hard to pull! I managed to damage my carpet inside as the pins really dig in on the sled lol 😀
@proftuna433 жыл бұрын
Great vid as always! Did you do some visual mods also to the liebherr? The powertrain mods are so cool, but I have no idea what happened to the mercedes. The tractor sorta thing looks intriguing, I think I worked out how it works. Also, new machine idea: a mobile crane/ lifter. I saw something irl that drove around on tracks and could carry long, really heavy flat packs around obstacles eg. Doors and general things you would find in a room by allowing the flat pack to manoeuvre on all 3 axis.
@GazRsExtremeBrickMachines3 жыл бұрын
Hey there thank you! The Liebherr is standard apart the strengthening mods! I will swap the hub in the Mercedes! For some reason the motors are not cutting out like they normally do when I pushed it too it’s limit awhile ago and this may have damaged them or the Hub is not right! The Sled is a copy of a kids tractor pull sled! Great little mechanism google it! Really simple and works great😀 I think I know what you’re on about with the crane thing! Think I’ve seen one on KZbin! Talking of cranes you will laugh at a future project I’m going to do! Hopefully within two weeks! It’s big and not clever but hoping to have some fun 😀
