I have the first gen. Some importers here in the states got them around the time Canada got theirs in. I Paid 219.00 plus shipping through a dealer on GB. I can only get mine to do that weird non reset when I trying to dry fire it multiple times. It disappears when you rack the slide in between trigger pulls. Some of the Canadian guys said the same thing. I got mine over the summer and have shot it maybe 500 times. I cast and load a powder coated Lee 125 TC bullet of a mid charge of titegroup. It runs fine and you get used to the first trigger pull. Seems to be a well made gun. Probably as good as my Caniks but with less Magazine selection. Extra factory mags are nonexistent. I ended up just going through my hoard of magazines and found the Ruger sr9 full size mags fit and function with a groove made into the front of the mag face. I show a How to on my Channel if you want to check it out. I used cheapo Promags because that is what I had . I had already ran them in my sr9 and they ran just fine.. I liked the pistol enough I took it as a trunk gun on a road trip to Florida over the fall. I used it at a range down there when the wife and kids were shopping. :)

Having a lot more rounds through mine now I have to say it is a remarkable pistol. What I noticed examining mine again today is how tight the frame/slide/barrel assembly is when locked up yet how smooth it is to cycle. Really remarkable. So I came back to this video and noted that you noticed the same thing. I don't have any other pistol that was not custom gunsmithed that is that tight yet smooth.

@@elsullo2 Yeah I still might buy one if I ever run across one again. Such a cool design, but really answering a question no one asked. Sure you are getting a little more barrel for less length of gun, but the dimension that is problematic is the grip length for concealment. The Sig P365 is a far superior CCW. Now if they took the magazine from the Sig and the feed mechanism from the Boberg, then you might have the smallest 3.8" barrel 9mm ever made.
@merlineric3 жыл бұрын
The way I got the mag change tool out of the grip was by placing a small optical screw driver under the lanyard rod from inside the mag compartment and prying up. It came out . The tool actually works well if you don't have your punch set to knock out the upper pin to release the grip panel. Strange, but I found you can't level the replacement panel without putting the grip tool pin punch back in first.. Follow the manual and push the pin out from left to right. Having been a arsenal officer hated resorting to prying anything out, but this method worked. Did not damage anything. Good luck it is a witch to do the first time. But the rest of the grip change is easy. Everything went back together fine. Even the pin punch tool is reasonable to pull out without being lose.

In Canada you need a gun license to own any gun. A PAL for most rifles and a R-PAL for pistols or other restricted firearms. I received my R-PAL two days after the government announced the freeze on handguns. As to holster fit - Glock 17 and 19 (with an open bottom) holsters will work. The TM9X seems to be a third generation iteration - you can pull up vids on KZbin going back to 2013. The earlier editions lacked forward slide serrations and contouring while the grips only have front and back texturing with smooth sides.

For 479.00 bucks it is everything a Glock should have evolved into. I caught the shooting impressions video and it seems as though Teya enjoyed shooting it and was rather accurate on paper in both of your hands. While you may not have popped the center in the accuracy segment on the first shot your group size says that with the right load it is a tack driver. Classic shows having 4 left in stock at the above mentioned price and to be honest it comes well packaged with 3 mags, backstraps, and carrycase so it is not a bad pricepoint. However, not being able to access the company for the spear trigger kit and other support makes me a bit leary on purchasing one. It is a very interesting piece and if the company goes into full swing and the support is there, I would definitely give it a more serious consideration for a duty purposed pistol.

Why haven’t any guns come with changeable front and back straps?? I know the VP9 has those side panels, but the majority of the pressure you are putting on the gun while shooting (at least with your dominant hand anyway) is going to be on the front and back of the grip.. Maybe they could have one front strap for those who like finger grooves, another for those who don’t, and maybe one in between with milder finger grooves like those that are present on the VP9. I dunno... It just seems like companies might be losing out on an opportunity to innovate a little..

Great video. I keep seeing comments that their web site is down. tarapistols.com/ I have spoken to people with Tara both in Montenegro and in the US. I have both the TM-9 and TM9X. Though they look very similar, there are many differences. I have fours mags for the TM-9 and three for the TM-9x. They are not the same mags as has been erroneously said elsewhere. Almost everything on the 9x is upgraded. For me, they both function flawlessly. Both are very accurate for me. I have a couple thousand rounds through the TM-9 and only a hundred or so through the 9X. I can say for sure the 9X is extensively upgraded. Both had gritty triggers that turned very smooth with a little use. For those that cut their teeth on old DA/SA hammer fired "wonder nines" the trigger makes sense. Think S&W 659, Sig 226, Beretta 92F, etc. If the compact comes out, I am getting one. Remember, the gen 1 and 2 are different. Don't be fooled. I was dumb enough to try to interchange the slides. If you do that the slide will get stuck for a different reason depending on which way you try the swap. Frustrating, but easily dealt with if you think your way through it. The barrels are different too. Some of the parts, like recoil rod and spring are interchangeable, but the x got a stainless rod with double springs. Definitely looks and feels like an upgrade. I got the spring dimensions and rates from the manufacturer for the striker, striker recoil, and recoil rod springs in case I experience a failure. They were very nice when I asked by email for that information. In fact, I felt like they really tried hard to take care of my questions. They actually sent me part of the design specs, looks like it was copied right off the actual design documents. Parts are always a worry on such pistols. These are not my EDC, SHTF, nightstand guns, or other such thing, they are range toys. I am very happy with them. For those that need a pistol like this and it will be their go-to weapon, get a S&W, Walther, Glock, or other such mainstream reliable pistol. BUT...as it stands, with a couple thousand rounds through one, I would trust it if I needed to.

@PV - Palmetto State Armory had them on clearance for $399 (sold out now) and Grabagun had them for $349.99 (sold out now). Classic still has them in stock for $479. There are a few on gunbroker for $499+

@@barfo281 Thanks! That Grabagan price sounds reasonable for what it is, given that there is Taurus G3 with the second strike capability and much better support.

Screw Classic. They are one of the companies that import and sell so cheap they will drive local stores like mine out of business. In my area, the local FFLS are banding together and have agreed not to accept FFL transfers from these larger corperations. If you want a gun from classic, Atlantic, or Prepper Gun Shop.. your driving 35 mins.
@GBGuns2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a great way to lose business. There's more margin to be made by accepting transfers and marking those up than there is in sinking capital into inventory and hoping someone buys it. Either that or they just mark their inventory way up. Sounds like you should look for better gun shops.
@WillysOverland2 жыл бұрын
@@GBGuns And when you keep supporting the big shops until they are the only ones left in business, you will all be crying again when they get to decide what the prices are on ammo and raise it through the roof. Marking transfers up? People cry when I charge them 20$ then cried when I lowered it to 15. I have been in business for many years and have seen many stores locally go out of business because of large monopoly stores that import and sell like Classic.
@GBGuns2 жыл бұрын
There will always be a need for local shops to do transfers, online orders can bring you more business when previously non-customers come to your shop to pick up an order.

@@vogonjelc As Graham said in his video, it appears the Tara Aerospace page for this pistol no longer exists :( Hopefully this is not the end of it completely. This does not look like a "ground-breaking" new design, but it does look interesting. The more competition on the market, the better.

@@dexm2010 idk whats going to happen with factory, current owner has shady practices, including not sending reports to our equivalent of IRS, holding regular meetings of holders far far away from Montenegro. Hopefully he's not going to kill it.
