I’m G1 as well but since I started reading MTMTI and IDW this is really rubbering off on me. Why not have an IDW collection? GCreation Ultra Maxmas is a nightmare transformation.

GCreations really needs to revisit their Ultra Maxmas, because it's a beautiful piece. Just needs some tweaks to the build quality and QC. It's a shame that so many people stayed away because of those things (and the explosions of tiny armatures that it became during transformation).

Thanks for the great review, Ben. This guy looks fantastic. I think after the overly-complicated misstep they made with Optimus, GCreation are well back on track after this and Sixshot. Although not everyone's cup of tea, I was a huge fan of their Shuraking dinobot combiner, so I'm really happy see them continuing to make fun and complex figures when others are far too committed to making more and more G1 toys.

The legs LOOK like a transformation nightmare but it's the arms that piss me off to no end. Getting those panels lined up and angled just right on the front of the vehicle is the worst thing ever. Aside from that (and the odd flash that stopped the vehicle sides from tabbing in) I like this thing. It is NOT for everyone though, that's for sure.

I prefer generation toy right now for my idw collection but if I didn't gcreation would still be what I'm filling out my collection with. Their recent prime and Megs are so well done imo. So is the stuff they do other under their other name. You really can't go wrong with either company. It's a great time we're living in with so many quality third party options out there. I love the idw design for this character and they were pretty faithful but it doesn't really look very high end to me so it's an easy pass but I still see why a lot of people will love this.

OrionMagnus jus once. I would say that it’s better to get like 2-3 items or more to save with shipping cost then to buy only one item. With most overseas stores, their prices are cheaper but it makes up with the shipping cost but Robot. Kingdom is pretty reasonable tho

I would have preferred less girly melee weapons - the design is fine they are just to small, The underside of of the kibble panels being visible on his back isn't pretty. Double knees would be nice too. Clear smoked windows & clear insert lights would have made it look more premium too. ( wouldn't even have minded if the lights were no pre-installed. G-Creations need to change the materials on their delicate pieces to either metal or rubber like plastic or include spares as they have a lot of issues with breakage of tiny parts on their toys. Those hip skirts look like a disaster waiting to happen. Shame really such a fiddly transformation means there is no fun there and so he's essentially a display piece. I'll consider him when he's on sale - but only as he looks a bit like War Within Prowl & I think he's a useful size and a better looking toy than the Datsun Bros are. - Better than some things but still some fine detail issues for me. Maybe they can do a second run with clear windows (like how Buzzing has either). So On my wants list but some where in the middle perhaps not super high up it.
