I love Prowl. He was my favorite as a kid, he is my favorite in IDW, but, as much love as I have for him, I sadly will pass on this guy. I would be terrified I would break him. He has such a beautiful presence, but, I have zero IDW inspired figures, he would feel out of place. I dunno. Maybe, I do love the guy, but, I got a lot of other gaps to fill before I start adding a different interpretation of the same character. That transformation, though. Jesus. I felt like your cellmate as you wrote the prison letter. Solid review, Bobby!

Thank you for the review. I got sucka'd into their IDW Prime sold within two days of owning. Picked up their SixShot as it looks amazing I kept it with zero regrets. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. As much as Prowl looks dope PAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaass!

You pretty much covered my feelings on him. My biggest issue is his shoulders. After that it's his fiddliness in transformation. But the figure is great.

By looking at this figure I wonder if MMC can make an IDW Prowl reusing the Calidus/Rodimus mold with some tweaks. It may still look good but have a simpler transformation. I think I'll call the guys... :)

I'm quite impressed, why? Because I remember seeing art work (I'm sure is still around) for this Prowl's alt mode, & for GCreation to make it onto reality (even though he was in the comics I know), I am really, quite impressed by this. Cudos to GCreations for that! 👏

JFC that transformation, "exploding knees" immediately comes to mind. Thanks for the review, sorry to say that I'll be passing. Bot mode looks sick but anything more aggravating than Carnifex's shoulders is where I'm gonna draw the line.

I LOVE this figure, it may be my favourite IDW figure yet, just beautiful!! But that first transformation, scary as hell. The tolerances are ridiculously tight, trying to tell pieces that move from shit you’re going to break off is almost impossible. They get easier with repetition, but man. They do you NO favours with the instructions either, they SUCK! A blind guy who has never experienced a transformer before wrote them, I’m sure of it. I got to a point where I literally threw them and just tried to go by pics online and looking at how hinges moved. It was surprisingly intuitive I found, after the steep learning curve, loosening some of the hinges with movement, and just trying different things I’ve come to like the complexity. Nothing broke on it which is either luck or it actually is sturdier then it feels lol BEAUTIFUL on the shelf or in front of a camera, I’m enjoying it quite a lot! Still not going near their Prime, thank GenToys for that lol In a way the character kinda comes through the transformation, in that Prowl is a complete asshole, but he grows on you hahaha

I'm already waiting on toon accurate prowl for my masterpiece shelf. I have a MMC lost light shelf, but not a RID shelf. That old problem with toon many bots and not enough shelf space. PS... I got that Streetwise you reviewed and the joints are super tight, and buttery. It's my fav Masterpiece right now.

I really like and at times love gcreations aesthetic but generally hate their transformations. I've had nothing but luck with generation toy so I think I'm just going to stick with them for their idw stuff no matter how much I dig gcreations. Whatever make us personally happiest is the sure way to go I guess.

Gcreation do seem to be improving. I was really tempted by this and am still tempted by their Drift design. Their transformations seem to be getting less explode-it-apart-and-reassemble-it-differently. I can't quite get over having hopes of a combiner torso for Devastator mode, though. (I have MT Giant type 61 and can't help feeling that a deluxe scale Prowl and leg mode Hook wouldn't break the bank). Also, £80 is starting to look like the new price of an MP car, now. I paid that much for MT Downbeat but don't feel like I can do that for every MP car. MMC Sphinx, MP Sunstreaker, this,... I'd like them all but they're all starting to feel not out of reach but a stretch further than I'm happy about... :-( You did a great review. Going to car mode was very revealingly tricky. I know you like to go the way they're packaged and it makes me wonder why a 3P/MP would ever be packaged in 'bot mode - with people buying online, the boost to sales that, supposedly, comes with being packaged in 'bot mode surely can't be a thing?!

The transformation isn't bad once you do it a couple times. The joints loosen up a bit and it doesn't feel as scary to transform.

I think as far as transformers I like to pick up and transform back and forth, I'd have to say is a 3 way with Striker Manus, Galaxy Meteor, and MM Apollo. Nice balance on enjoyment and work. MP-10 would probably be on my list if I still messed with him but I leave him alone next to my Megs.

I definitely sit on the same bench with you on closing thoughts. Great action figure, maybe not a great transforming toy. The actual motions and steps don't seem complicated but tolerances and excessive moving parts cause the problems.

Just bought this (or it’s repaint) as my second ever transformers figure - the creaking and the tightness in the legs scared me so much when transforming it for the first time. And yeah the instructions didn’t help with the legs either 😅

Prowl is my favortie Transformer (as my name implies). I'd rather see if Generation Toys does as version of IDW Prowl though, I prefer their IDW Prime.

Here's my real gripe about this bot; For all the effort and work involved in the transformation, in alt mode, you basically see the lower torso/legs, the upper torso/head, and most of the arm unit... So you can pretty much see the bot under the car mode, but it takes what seems like a simple objective, and overcomplicated it for no real reason. The car looks Cool, yes. The bot looks Cool, yes. But it doesn't seem like the transition is even worth the effort, especially when you can turn the car upside down and see 75% of the bot right there.
