I got 9 A*s and an A because I could only do 10 at my school. I genuinely believe that if you feel confident and you're doing well don't freak out and do as much revision as Ruby, if you don't think you can or don't feel you need to. As she said "enjoy what you're doing", revise how you know works for you. 10 hours a day didn't work for me. Worked for her which is great though. Agreed though, past papers are key. Also do some exercise. It clears your head like nothing else. Seriously. Don't sit at a desk for too long otherwise you will lose your mind. Go for a run, swim, even a walk

It's great that you did so well and that you enjoy studying, and I know people learn in different ways. But I just want to say to all the people watching this you DON'T need to this much work to do well. This is not the only way to get such good results and for most people doing this much revision will hinder them not help them as you just won't be able to focus doing 10 hours a day. All I'm saying is her tips are great, but there's more than one way to do well and make sure the method you're using is the best one for you!

Hey, Ruby don't get me wrong please, I'm a subscriber of yours. But do you really think studying this much is healthy? I mean what about your brain's social development etc.? I'm genuinely asking this, in no way I'm trying to belittle or offend you. I don't live in the UK, I live in the Netherlands and we have a difficult school system here, we have 6 different types of high school/college - in one, we do an IQ-test after year 8 and based on our results we go to a certain type of school. I am currently in year 5 of VWO, after the summer break i will be in my last year. VWO is basically a pre-university course of 6 years on a Cambridge level. We also study a lot so i totally understand you love studying etc. But isn't this a bit too much?
@matteocatilo38227 жыл бұрын
Seeking Knowledge unfortunately the UK are horrible at maintaining the mental health of its students - they constantly ovework students by making harder exams without improving teaching methods.
@atica24267 жыл бұрын
Matteo Catilo oh thats sad here the exams get more difficult too, like ive done english exams with my cousin coz she lives there in UK but to me they were sooo easy eventho she was one year ahead of me. However our schools and educationsystems are great, the government really encourages us to be the best version of ourselves, by studying in an effective way, being happy and offering us free coaches when we feel like we're really stressed and are close to a burn-out.
@matteocatilo38227 жыл бұрын
Seeking Knowledge That is true- but recently there have been some reformations in the high school exams starting next year and they are immensely difficult ; they have taken the creativity and enjoyment out of education and just want to compete with other countries sadly.
@atica24267 жыл бұрын
Matteo Catilo thats indeed really sad, I guess they do that in every country but in Uk its a bit too much then 😕 come to the Netherlands! problem solved 🙌🏽😉

Seeking Knowledge yes!! Students in out school are really jealous of Netherlands and Finland - they have a great education system where they really do balance education with life in general.

Wow I really thought that I've done all and that it's not possible for me to get better at my point without neglecting my life besides school.. but I definitely have a goal I want to reach and I was sure that there has to be anything I can change or anything I can do. By finding your channel I knew I was right. To be honest at first I thought "wow that's not good what she's doing bc she's just focusing on school and is neglecting other parts of life..." but little did I know I was so wrong! As I was watching more and more of your videos I saw that you're the most organized student I've seen so far and that you know exactly what to do and when to do. The past night I've spent watching so many of your videos and I'm like such a Harry Potter fan too (compared to my friends I thought I was disturbingly addicted to it but now I start to consider myself as a Muggle watching you 🙁😅 There were so many things I totally neglected and missed during the last school your such as reading or... but now I have a new role model and I think I will copy a lot of your time management. You're like the most inspiring person for me at the moment, I mean not to be/sound conservative or anything but I'm so happy to live in the 21st century where a woman can be a role model for a guy. You're working so incredibly hard and you're such a strong, independent and intelligent young woman if you don't become a popular person for your work in the next year's I don't know who else does. 🙌I'm pretty sure you'll never see/read all this but if you do... all of my respect from Germany and I truly wish that you accomplish your dreams and goals in life!

Work on your end of your exams, so your end of year, year 7 one, 8 and then 9 make sure you do your best in these tests so you can get into the best sets for the up coming year. make your notes in your exercise books neat and coherent, it saves so much time when you come to revise for end of year exams you're not missing like half of your notes and have nothing to revise from lol. also don't stress too much these first couple of years, push for the end of year exams but don't burn out during the year as you'll end up being under a lot of stress. those are just some tips that helped me :)

How do you motivate yourself to do 10 hours a day ?
@100sian7 жыл бұрын
Dinara Jayawickrama I wouldn't recommend working for that long, it's not healthy and can lead to lots of stress later on as you won't be motivated to revise anymore, this is what happened to me so I really do not recommend revising for that long, maximum you should do is around 5-6 hours a day with lots of breaks in between and do things that you enjoy!
@rhythmicelegance46707 жыл бұрын
It is different for each person. Ppl who work for that long and longer, and ppl who prefer shorter sessions that still brings them success, do it because their methods of studying and learning work for them in making them comfortable with the material and achieves the results they are looking for, and many find it really fun to spend extra time on the material. Once you find what works for you with becoming at least slightly interested in the subject, learning it, and remembering it, and gets you the results you want, that will become your type of normality. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s unhealthy or abnormal for you, if it’s what particularly works for you. Experiment with different methods and time frames to see what’s best for you. There are so many ideas on the internet that you can choose to design your own successful schedule, including how short or long of a break in-between or afterwards might work for you. Also, as she says, you can start with designing an inspiring study area for yourself with all the supplies you’ll need and decorations that will motivate but not distract you. Creating a time-specific study schedule helps a lot as well. Ruby has a really pretty and clever study planner you can get from her shop and customise, or you can design your own. Be sure to *commit* to it for the best outcome! :) (Btw, not everyone has school as a top priority, and that’s ok if it works for them, but some will try to discourage the studious ppl with all sorts of criticisms. Don’t let anyone dilute your ambitions either way. To each, their own!)

There is absolutely no hate in what I'm going to say. But you don't NEED GCSE grades that good to do well in life. Yes you need to get at least a c in English and maths as well as 3 other exams to get into most colleges. However after you get into college GCSE's don't matter. I have a full time job (a good one that I need a qualification for) but it wasn't based upon my grades. They didn't care at all! I get for some they do. But it's mainly a levels that they are about. Honest opinion and I'm not saying what you are doing is bad but give yourself a break. Watch TV every now and then or play with friends for a full day! It must make people think that if you font get A's or A*'s at GCSE then they've failed and will get nowhere in life.
