Hi Paul, If you can go behind the stove you should be able to remove a sheet metal panel and near the bottom you’ll see the two wires going to the bake element. You can use your multi-tester to look for voltage when the stove is set to bake. If it has voltage than you know it’s the bake element.

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Nice video. I also have a GE that needs a new element and I was thinking that I could only access the connections from the rear of the oven, which would be a bit of a hassle. Are most GE element connectors accessible from the inside? I hope so!! :-)

I have the exact same stove... had a power issue (needed a new wall plug) not enough power to it... Now stove comes on but does not heatat all anywhere

Hi Chris, I think you’ve only got 110 volts coming to the stove. You need 220 volts. Might want to check the 2 breakers for your stove.

So I put the broiler on and the top element got really hot and red but when I put the oven on bake, it beeps when it reaches the temperature i put but the oven does not feel hot just warm, would it still be the elements that I need to replace? Even though it got super hot on broiler? Thank you

You can pull out the broiler pan and look for a sticker on the frame with the model number.

So let’s say you replaced the bake element but when you turn the oven on now, dis doesn’t heat to the high set temperature and won’t glow amber… what should I be looking at next as the issue?

Gotcha, Can you make sure that both breakers for the oven are turned on. If they are and still no heat, then you replace the controller 👍

The bake element on mine stays in during preheat then shuts off and only the broil stays on and locks the door. Is this still a bake element issue or something else

My GF pushed the temp control buttons and locked it / tech came and pushed both temp buttons and unlocked it 119 bucks !

I think my customer had used the self clean feature, which brings the temperature up to about 900°F and that can definitely damage things inside the oven.
