If you are like me and had problems with this. Hold set up, press TV. Press the power button once. And from here, u can push VOLUME UP to search each code INDIVIDUALLY incase your code is passed up by the automatic search. My code kept getting passed up when I tried automatic search, so I tried each code one by one this way. And I only had to do it once unlike the auto search.

You're a savior to stress from universal controllers. I didn't finish your video and allowed my TV to go into what I'm guessing is a display mode lol.. like my menu changed to a Q.menu. then it kept disconnecting my controller. Lol .. then I got stuck to where my Menu button would change my input to Cable 💀 then I watched your video again.. fully. Lmfao thank you so much! I am now in control again.. for now..

Hey there, I just wanted to thank you for your help, I've been trying to program my dvd player for about a week, i even went on the LG website and didn't get any straight answers, I could get it to turn off, but that's it, everyone else neglected a few steps, even the manual for the remote wasn't right on, because without the remote I couldn't press play, they make them that way on purpose probably, was about to try to order another remote, thanks again so much, PEACE

Bout to try this, will edit the results. once a compatible device code is found and the TV turns off, how does the remote know to stop scanning, so that I can store this very code, and not another that it has now tried to scan for ?

Hi @mrpentium. After the remote goes through the groups of 10 codes and the device turns off, that means it has narrowed down the device codes to your code being one of those 10. At that point, manually turn the device back on. With the remote pointed at the device, press and release the VOL+ button. The remote will then check the first code of those 10 codes. The red light will blink once and remain on. If your device turns off, then you've found the code for your device. To store that code, press and release the same device button you pressed in Step 3. If your device does not turn off, then press and release the VOL+ button to check the next code. Keep repeating this step until your device turns off, which means you've found a compatible code. I’m trying to set this up for my elderly mother. I’m doing Roku box for streaming. The remote did great seating up volume control and power. However, it’s not accepting changing channels!! I don’t know why. The Roku box is responding and something happens on tv but no channel changing action.

If I'm understanding correctly, the solution may be as simple as putting the TV in TV mode to change the TV channels. To do so, press the TV device button, then try to change the channels. When your mother wants to stream through the Roku, she'll just need to press the remote's device button dedicated to the Roku. Then, when she wants to watch the TV and change channels, she'll just need to press the TV device button. If this doesn't resolve the issue, then it appears you may be experiencing partial code functionality. Simply stated, the remote is using a code that only controls some of the TV's functions but not all. Manufacturers will reuse portions of their codes with alternate models, so there’s most likely another code stored in the remote that will provide better functionality. To locate it, try reprogramming the remote using each of the other codes for your TV. This process worked perfectly for everything except for some reason the input button doesn’t work. All the other buttons function well but in order to change the input I have to manually press the button on the tv. When I press the button on the remote, the indicator light lights up and turns off like all the other buttons, but the tv never changes the input. Do I just need to keep repeating the process until it works?
