Flexible ducts are illegal in my area. Semi rigid or rigid only.

You can use up to 8 feet of flexible duct as a transition to the rigid duct of the rigid duct can’t be installed, such as the closet in the video. M1502.4 Transition ducts. Transition ducts shall not be concealed within construction. Flexible transition ducts used to connect the dryer to the exhaust duct system shall be limited to single lengths not to exceed 8 feet, and shall be listed and labeled in accordance with UL 2158A.

You are correct. They are against National Fire code. Every Manufacturer since 1978 tells you that foil or vinyl venting cannot be used. Vent catches fire installer of vent is liable

You may have wanted to consult a professional general contractor or an appliance installer before you beat up your machine they make a 90° Flex flat duck out of galvanized steel that slides telescopically up and down to make the connections and it will fit flush against the wall rather than using a flex duct everything you did was totally unnecessary
