Thank you, the drain test code 12 is very helpful! I was using a shop vacuum ... I left my machine off for an hour, and it started working again. it would not spin.

What is my next option if washer will not go into diagnostic mode? I am working with a GFW850Spnor.

Mine had code 66, then when I tried to do the tech code and spend the night around a 180° it will not bring up the same screen as you had so I could test the different options

Test 16 is for clearing all error codes.

Useless. I have the exact model and it will not go into tech mode like the other commenter said.

I had to flip the breaker on mine and leave the machine off for a couple minutes before either mode worked. Once i turned it back on both modes worked. Mine takes closer to 15 seconds on the first mode to come on. On tech mode once you turn the dial 180* take your finger off the start/stop button. I left my finger on the first few times and couldn't get it either. Funny thing is my drain pump stopped working. I took the machine apart and OHM'ed out the pump and it was way out of spec. Bought a new pump and now the machine won't turn on it just clicks. Not sure what happened but after about 30 minutes the machine decided to work. I had the exact same issue drain pump still not working. I was 100% sure the old pump was bad. The only thing that controls the drain pump is the main board. I ordered a board based on the clicking and the new pump not working. When I pulled the old board it had a nasty burn mark right through a transistor. I was actually glad as it all made sense. The board fried and took the old pump out with it. Now it works great again but my machine is only 2.5 years old. G.E. only gives a year warranty.

@@scotts4125 can you tell me the part number you bought. You had the same issue I’m having but can’t figure out which part I need. Is it the main control board or inverter board? Also, where on the machine does this part live?

The code explanations are inside the machine. Take off the top cover and it is there in a ziploc bag
