It's friggin' insane having to remove the main board for a battery replacement instead of having a simple flex connector. Swear, sometimes makes me think that Apple has some mentally challenged engineers designing their products. smh

I would turn on my iPad and only the Apple logo screen would pop up and will not go to the Home Screen. It will continuously turn on and off until it dies, but it can be recharged. Do you think this is a battery issue or a hardware issue?
@BillAnt21 күн бұрын
If it's only turning on and restarting while plugged in but not without the charger, it's probably a defective battery or bad contacts under the main board.

Would this also help to 'reset' white dots (famous problem/design flaw) in screen? My battery is about 84% health and with that it has problems showing accurate battery statistics. For example it stays on 35% very long and jump to 10%. But still works fine and long enough so I am hesitant to swap. Also afraid for shitty workmanship.

This issue is with the design; replacing the battery won't fix it, but opening the device may help to clear out places contacts with the board. It may clear away while installing but needs to diagnose. Sometimes faulty lcd/connector may create this issue too.

The way they engineered this is a bit infuriating. The battery is clearly going to MOST REPLACED PART. So what does Apple do? They bury it under EVERYTHING and make it the hardest possible thing to get at. Like, c'mon Apple, you could _easily_ put the battery right at the top and made it a million times easier to replace...

These tablets are designed purely for efficient assembly. Their is zero thought on replacements as they expect you to buy new. That’s the real “green” message. Apple is fake in their green philosophy and highly anti-repair.

I’d rather send the iPad to authorised service centre to do that lol, that reminds me the same thing i did by taking out logic board broke iphone 7s antenna so not gonna do another disaster on iPads 😂

This product has to be the epitome of Apple's design philosophy on right to repair. The very last thing you remove is the only thing you need to replace, after multiple layers of glue. They are a disgrace to humanity. Edit - actually, that's not quite fair, you don't have to remove the camera.

Be careful with any pointed tools near those lithium batteries. They are easy to be punctuated and cause a terrible fire. With such an old tablet it might be better to use an external battery instead. Just my opinion.
