Thank you for showing the products! I went to a new nail tech after getting my nails done elsewhere (in a different state) and loved the ones from the other state but asked for gel and they gave me acrylic! I don't know much about nails, I just know that the gel nails really helped me from splitting my natural nails. Got these acrylics and after a week they still hurt. The tech did not do as I asked and now I know I am not crazy.

I buy from Planet Nails. To make my natural nails very hard and strong their product is called hard builder gel in a bottle. Just a bit thicker than polish and paint it on like gel polish. I do 3 coats curing between each one. Makes my nails hard so no need to use false nails. Love it.

I use a hybrid gel as my ‘base coat’ then strengthen my nails w/ a coat or 2 of hard gel & this is why: IMO, Hybrid gel doesn’t seem to burn your fingers when under the lamp & they are easy to sculpt. Down side is it doesn’t add the strength i like to my nails (i am rough on them). So i add a layer or 2 of hard gel. No burn on your nails when curing bc of the buffer of hybrid gel. Then you can add a layer of color w/ gel or regular polish or whatever art you want. (note: do not add gel polish on top of regular polish…no bueno!)

As someone who has done their own press-on nails, I was told that gel nails are do-able at home without spending hundreds or thousands of dollars per year getting them at the salon. What is the best way to shape the nails for the beginners? what did you use on your brush to keep the gel from sticking?
@NailCareerEducation2 ай бұрын
There’s many DIY products that are easier to do. Press In Tips applied with Hybrid Gel is the easiest to get the best looking results. Attempting sculpted nails is much more involved. In my professional opinion it’s worth the expense IF you can find a skilled tech.

@NailCareerEducation2 ай бұрын
Rubber base gel is a more structured soft gel. So it has great flexibility hence the name rubber, but there is no rubber in it, of course. But it’s still not a great product to extend with because it’s not strong enough on its own. It’s gotta be on top of a natural nail.

Thank you Suzie. This really helps a lot.❤

Thank you! My nail technician always used rubber base. In what category does that fit? I ordered it but noticed that it seems less thick then the one she used. She advised me to use it as a base before putting on the colour gel, because it is more rubbery than other gels, so it won't break as easy. Is that true?
@NailCareerEducation2 ай бұрын
Well it IS and it ISNT. Ugggh it gets alittle more complicated. Soft Gels are a structured gel which means it has alittle more strength ( but not as strong as a Hard Gel ) but you don’t want to extend with a rubber base. ( which has no rubber lol) Rubber base gels are a flexible soakable gel - but it’s not as strong as hard gel - so it may not break BUT it doesn’t give strength
@Emm17382 ай бұрын
It is so so complicated though. Thank you for this video because I've been learning all this through trial and error doing my own nails at home. Just wanted to say, you can build strength with rubber base! You can build an apex and everything. You CAN'T make extensions with it though, for sure. But three coats of rubber base has become my favorite thing to protect and grow my natural nails. One flat base coat and two building/shaping coats. The technique is the same as builder in a bottle, but you flip the finger upside down to let gravity help with the apex and you gotta cure it fast fast or it'll run and get bumps. I actually prefer the flexibility because I work with my hands (nurse), and I find that hard gel always cracks where rubber base bends with my nail. Thank you for your channel! I learn so much from you, and my application of regular polish is a thousand times better with what I've learned from you. You're great. @@NailCareerEducation

@@mementomori7266personally id use stamping polish Or stamping gel. But be careful about getting it on your skin! Why i rarely use stamping gel. Allergic reactions can develop and it would likely be to acrylates. These are in lots of things even dental work. Once allergic always allergic. Over exposure especially on skin is the main factors. (Avoid HEMA, a common allergen that is soooo tiny it penetrates gloves) The gel paints are typically thicker and more pigmented than a "gel polish" . Do you recommend hard or hybrid gel over long natural nails? I would love something to keep them from breaking, it's hurts because they break to the meat every stinking time. I'm lucky to have long thick natural nails, until one of them breaks... So I'm curious if it would be a good product for my type of need. The polish gives me a reaction; latex allergy 💯
@NailCareerEducation2 ай бұрын
Well, before you try anything because you’re allergic to latex, I would definitely try one finger with a product before committing to all 10. Your natural nails are breaking because they’re getting so long that this stress point right near the meat of your nail is the weakest. That’s why they’re breaking there. So you could just go a little bit shorter and skip, the overlay. That’s a thought or if you insist on having them long hard gel is actually harder than hybrid gel. But you may not need the super hard product. You won’t know until you try it. But again just try one.

So, builder in a bottle and hybrid gels would be considered soft gels as would gel polish. Please feel free to look it up for yourselves. I like and respect Suzie, but she's a bit off on this one. Sorry Suzie!

I hear you, in this video I didn’t discuss removals. It’s just to simply break down the very basic differences. Going forward I can get into more details. And to be clear in this conversation, Builder in a bottle / Hybrid gels are type of structure gel. Allowing more strength than soft gel like Gel Polish . It is however under the soft Gel category bc it can be soaker off. But it is used as a structured gel for builds. But that will be what I talk about in another video. And before the end of the year they’ll be another gel type invented 😂 thanks for your comment
