Hi, very nice to here you play. Im freelance musician in Sweden and im asked to play the andante part on a funeral next week. Well you obviously show that its possible. I wonder to take the first repeat 8 down from original but the second part two 8 down..as you play Ill have to experiment...thanks for sharing this video. Youre a awsome cellist!!

maestro you play close to, or on the fingerboard and not closer to the bridge, is this to obtain a more refined sound?

In this setting I find that bow placement to produce a pure and refined sound, yes. For solo cello and with the microphone up close, there’s no need for projection. Of course in other repertoire/settings, closer to the bridge is necessary. Thank you!
