Keep shredding and stay tuned for more. It's been a long time off the board and I just wanted to share my experience for anyone looking to get back into skateboarding or even if you're new to it. I've missed skateboarding so much and after weight gain among other life issues skating just took a far back seat. Well my friends the time for regret is over because I'm back and loving it. I'm just a little bit older and heavier but with a healthy diet, exercise and skateboarding back in my life the pounds are melting off. Flexibility and strength are coming back. got on a board again for the first time in almost 15 years (im a 35yo designer with a VERY sedentary life), didn't warm up properly and fucked up my lower back. Your video got me itching to get better fast and start a better warm up routine so I can get my tricks back!! Keep going bro, you're an inspiration!!

Bro I'm the same, video producer. Spent too many years editing with snacks! lol Dude if I can do it so can you! The warm up routine I had to learn the hard way just like you. It's definitely evolved too, I think I got it down now. I also do a deep stretching routine everyday first thing in the morning. I know that sounds gnarly but it's a full on habit now. It's really helping me stay loose and not feel stiff at all. I also mirror the deep stretch post session on skate days and I am no longer sore anymore, pretty much ever. Wished I would have started this in my 30's!! FR Thanks for watching and your kind words! Keep shredding!!❤️🛹

I got a basement not a garage but same boat. My kickflips have pretty good form and I can even land 6 or 7 in a row usually but for me the key to making them look good is actually jumping. You need time in the air. You need to jump high if you want to kickflip high. And I simply don't have the muscles for it yet, even though I look slim and in relatively good shape. 10 or 15 good jumps in a row, plus flicks, and the muscles above my knees are sore. When I first started getting back into flip tricks, weird reflex muscles in my hips would get sore. Every single day is leg day for me, squats and toe lifts, for months, maybe over a year now. The correlation between strong legs and board control and better technique is very noticeable but it takes constant work..

Wow, thanks for sharing that sounds very similar. I'm stoked for you that you keep going. That's so RAD!!! Absolutely, I have to do leg day daily and then my warmups every time before skating and deep stretch after or else I get roasted. Loosening the hip flexors have been key, before I has able to do it I thought "oh well guess I can't jump, I'll be just carving bowls from now on."🥲💔🤷🏽‍♂️ After research and months and almost a year now I'm finally breaking through!😅 It's become my routine now so it's become easier as time has gone on. I'm so grateful, catching those kick flips even as small as they were made me so happy I can't even explain it in words. Just wish the weight would come off faster! Thanks for watching!!❤️🛹🙌
