Wow!! Do I need to thank you!! I’ve been watching your and other KZbin videos for at least a year on how to handle my low density, thin, 2b 2c long hair. I only thought putting product into soaking wet hair was what would work best for me. Well, you convinced me to finally try applying into plopped hair and WOW, did my hair respond to that. I used all Curlsmith products though. It helped with curl definition, repelling humidity, and body. You also convinced me to try sectioning out the top to reshape and cover my peek though scalp. It all worked!!! I am so happy. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Headed to the beach here in NC the day after tomorrow! I haven’t found anything that works for southern summer humidity yet but might give these a shot! Love love love your videos! So thorough and detailed with no fluff. Thank you!

Thank you for reviewing these products. I have used them and found I really do like them as an affordable curly hair product. And the fact that they are Ouidad products is a huge plus.

It would be interesting to see this same routine in the fall/winter. Products may hold up better when it’s cool and dry. I’ve used Ouidad climate control heat and humidity gel for 20+ years. It’s my absolute favorite.

I've only used the weather up gel, and it definitely did NOT hold up well in FL humidity for me. I've seen a couple people getting amazing results, but one I know is in a very dry climate, and the other was in more of a medium climate. They each used other twist products also. I have found it works great for dry refreshing, I just mix a tiny bit in my hand with a spritz or 2 of water and just do a smoothing sorta gentle finger coil around individual curls that look poorly and it helps quite a bit. I do want to try the weather up lotion though. My hair is weighed down very easily, so thinner lotion like creams tend to work better for me (if I use a cream at all, sometimes I just use a leave in)

Do you live in Florida? I live in SW Arkansas and our humidity is always stupid high. So I’m always looking for good recommendations for good hold products. Thanks for your comment- I haven’t tried these products yet bc I didn’t know how well it would hold. Most folks don’t know humidity like we southerners. ❤️✌️
@VengefulAngeI3 жыл бұрын
@@jennadyan Yes, I've lived in FL my whole life! There's nothing worse than a hot, humid day that rains around noon and then the sun comes right back out to heat up all the moisture. It's a literal steam bath. The heat index hits 115 to 120 on days like that. It's hard to breathe cuz the air is so thick! I always layer hold products - whether it's 2 gels or a mouse/foam and a gel. Sometimes I use 3. I usually leave the cast in and don't use a serum until the cast wears out on its own. If i have to break some cast due to it being WAY too much to the point my hair looks like thick wet noodles lol, I use a bit of Moroccan oil mixed with some Ouidad climate gel (the white bottle) to break the cast. Sounds weird, but it has slip and when oil is mixed with it, it gas a LOT of slip. Then the gel helps to re-coat the hair in a hold product. Either way (leaving the whole cast or breaking a bit) I always use a bit of humidity blocking hairspray. Either the bounce curl one or the Pantene "air" spray, it's their alcohol free aerosol hair spray and it blocks humidity.

I don’t think there’s anything that would work in South Florida humidity. I have yet to find something that will withstand FL humidity. The only thing I found that helps a little is adding to any routine is adding a little bit of home made flaxseed gel.
@GenaMarie3 жыл бұрын
@@VengefulAngeI I do the same! I layer a hairspray in extreme humidity, like the Bounce Curl one

@@jennadyan Right?! the humidity in the south is next-level. There's only so much we can do in the summer and then embrace the frizz lol. I like layering a hairspray on top too.

I wish I understood the whole glycerin deal. The weather up gel feels great but it has glycerin so I have to add another gel to layer over the glycerin. I live in TX and the dew points are very high. I want this to work. And 15 min to diffuse? I wish! My hair takes about an hour!
@GenaMarie3 жыл бұрын
Glycerin is usually ok if combined with other ingredients that block humidity like polyquats (these products have several). Also, check out this video about how I reduce my dry time! kzbin.info/www/bejne/paLEpKegr6x7jdE

My hair I fine low density hi porosity wavy. You mentioned your hair took approx 15mins to dry. Mine takes so long to dry. Even diffusing. I don't leave cream in it except a little in winter. Then I use Ecoslay orange marmalade and jello shot. I'm just puzzled why it takes a long time to dry?
@GenaMarie3 жыл бұрын
I made a video about how to reduce dry time here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/paLEpKegr6x7jdE One of the biggest things is damp styling versus soaking wet, and microplopping (where you scrunch out the excess water).
@jeweldenile89953 жыл бұрын
I do find that any of the EcoStyle products increase my dry time by a lot. If you can, see how long your hair dries with just a towel dry and no products. That will be your real dry time. After that is is the products and how much moisture you are leaving in. Hope this helps.

I think the shampoo has a sulphate in it
@GenaMarie3 жыл бұрын
Twist's website says "no harsh sulfates" but I see Ammonium Laureth Sulfate which some may consider harsh. I did read that "laureth" is more gentle that "lauryl". I think for a clarifying shampoo though it's actually a good thing to have a more powerful cleanser, especially to be able to remove the polyquats and the one water-soluble silicone that the cream has. I would only clarify about 2x a month though.
