It's like 10 years now that trans activists are attempting to redefine homosexuality as "same-gender attraction" to include the opposite sex and harrassing homosexuals who dare state the true nature of homosexuality (same-SEX attraction), calling homosexual people all kinds of slurs, silencing homosexual people, brainwashing gay kids to think they are actually trans, etc. Why did it take you so long to see it?

As an older gay man myself, I find this corporate and other non-gay sponsorship of gay pride events utterly bizarre, total cringe and super creepy - compared to my teens in the 1980’s, I never thought that I’d find myself having conservative views, leaning towards the right (as I (was) a leftist in my youth) and being anti-pride - even before Covid, I was made to feel alienated from the gay community, having endured so much prejudice and discrimination from (within) the gay community soon after I came out - and even being told to my face that I was not welcome at gay pride events - compared to back then, my family and friends are far more supportive of my being gay, even though they cannot understand my current views on gay pride and on other pro-gay things, especially since Covid and especially relating to children, as they still think that I’m just being “negative” and they cannot see the harm of “drag queen story hour” for children for example

As an older Irish gay man in the U.K. 23 years, I do agree with Darren’s points in this conversation with Andrew - the woke cancel culture is even worse in my native Ireland given Ireland’s hate speech laws - now, having previously supported gay rights and equality in my teens in the 1980’s in Catholic Rural Ireland, I’m beginning to wonder if making gay legal was a big mistake - the sheer hypocrisy of the modern LGBTQ+ community of demanding equality from straights while prejudice and discrimination (within) the gay community is “off the charts” can only lead to a serious backlash against all gay people from straights and many others - and in many ways rightly so, as it will be quite rightly justified and richly deserved

Born 1958 and basically raised with racism and homophobia because my parents didn't know better (think Little Britain puking scenes). By my teens however I had gotten over it and now have several friends who fall into those categories. I don't have any openly trans friends but there's time. However, in the meantime I have come to the conclusion that the way they (gender idealogues) want to ignore science and fact, and the language that accomanies it, means I cannot take their side. Only male people (i.e.men) should be referred to as he/him and she/her is for female (i.e. women).

Regarding not knowing better-- religious, political, and bigotry cathexes are means of emotional regulation which are endemic to civilization itself, so it's okay to cut your folks some slack. Cavemen almost certainly had few to no neuroses because they had not yet become one another's apex predator. The obviation of our omnivorous need to hunt resulted from what we think of as civilizing ourselves despite the consequence having been psychogenic to intraspecies predation. Our need for this is IMO the likeliest reason we evolved into physically distinct races. Consensus (headcount dominance) has to accommodate irrationality (the link between insanity and stupidity), so necessitates duplicitous concealment. Those who lie the least get phenotypically excluded from the genotype because they're maladapted to duplicity. Mediocrity remains entrenched because nearly all of the outlier intelligence is developed as an adaptive skill for surviving parents who groom it not to lie (self-defeating selflessness, or in other words autism). You know psychopathy has never been in the ICD or DSM? Probably because regulating (masks of) "sanity" by directing our irrational barbarism toward members of culturally-approved ideological outgroups means everybody's a psychopath to somebody. Harder to mind betraying one's entire species when pointing it at people who look different. Actual psychopaths wouldn't need that accommodation so bigotry is literally evolutionarily supported. Not arguing for it only pointing out why it's never going away

I couldn't agree more! I am a gay man in my mid-fifties. Although I'm into guys, I've felt a man and quite comfortable with all my body parts as they are, no earrings, tattoos, and I like wearing normal men's wear. I have been very often accused of not being gay enough, not involved enough in all those activists' movements, and generally of keeping my personal life just that, namely personal (I'm not in the closet, but on the other hand I don't join LGBTQ groups, neither I do I feel the need to reveal my sexuality to anyone the very moment I meet them-the same way heterosexuals do not introduce themselves with "Hello I'm George and by the way I'm straight "...). Furthermore I disagree with the ease with which young children are subjected to irreversible medical procedures at an age they still haven't figured out what this is all about. We deem them too young to vote or drive, or even to be legally fully accountable for their actions, but it's OK to let them mess around with their growing up. That's just insane woke-ism pursued by people who are more concerned about their own ideas than about the well being of those poor kids (to put it mildly).

you dont need a label to justify your life, I like men. that's one part of who I am. it doesn't define and consume my whole existence. in some people, it seems to take over their full life. just because someone's gay doesn't mean they need to follow everything gay or agree with everything or you're a gay homophobic. that's when it gets to the point it's ridiculous, and confirms to me I'd rather stay far away from that culty world

The opening statement "it's marxism 101that your identity isn't about your lived experiences...but it's about who you are with your immutable characteristics" is completely brain dead. It's on the same level as "people who want secure borders are fascists". Marxism has nothing to do with your identity, lived experiences, or immutable characteristics, just like fascism has nothing to do with wanting basic defining features for your country.

7:50 yup, that's been the reason it's so important to do it while they're still dependent minors. Adolescent gender dysphoria is known to resolve after leaving the parental domicile. It's their parents who they think would rather legitimize a chromosomal impossibility than have a gay kid. Maternal approval still wanting that late in the game isn't coming, but that's why such a radical bid for it.

The very definition of "queer" by Halpirin(?) Is: "It is an identity without an essence." It is a political position that has nothing to do with ones sexuality because one example of "living queerly" could just be a het married couple with no children.

Absolutely, if I was 10 now with being gay and having all the confusion that goes with it, I would think the easy way out is to become a “girl”. Not realizing it yet that I wouldn’t ever become one, that it would only bring on more problems. The solution should not be to change yourself, but discover yourself. Changing your body physically won’t change your mental health issues as a pubescent gay male.

Sex is biology, gender is ideology and whilst you can change your ideology you can't change your biology. I've been thinking for a while that the whole trans debate is based in it's now NOT OK to be gay which is really an ingrained homophobia? This trans culture is the new anorexia which is also about exerting control outwardly by self-harm... How is giving a child hormones, opposite clothing and then steering them into mutilation anything but a modern "conversion therapy"? Talking therapy with a child who has gender identity issues isn't "conversion therapy" if that talking helps them to understand that not feeling "right" or "the same" as others is actually quite normal whereas doing something permanent and drastic actually isn't normal or safe or OK...and maybe they are on the spectrum as this seems to be the situation with so many young people today anyway! I feel very very strongly that no child should be given a single "sex-change" hormone and frankly, it should take a bloody big effort to give them to adults and only after psychological support with possible autism examination - IF it is about not wanting to be gay teach the kids it really is OK and far better than mutilation, permanent hormone ingestion and still not really being what they are trying to be ie the "opposite" sex.
