Gene is my idol and I have spent pretty penny on three meet and greets. I feel awful for his die hard fans that were literally left out in the cold. I would have been devastated if I paid to meet him and it didn’t happen. I’ve always admired Gene’s respect for the KISS Army but this makes me feel differently now. Excellent video Cassius, I’m a new subscriber!

Hope you all in Saskatchewan have better luck than I did I got to Minhas 4234 99 street at 6:20pm in Edmonton Gene Simmons was supposed to be there until 8:00 p.m. he decided to leave at 6:40 p.m. because he was tired I thought I was going to get to see him for sure because there was only 12 of us waiting outside. I have some pretty serious health complications and I really wanted to see him it would have really lifted my spirits😢 hope he doesn't walk away from his fans at a meet and greet concert

I was there at 830am and got in line. It's was cold but decent once the sun came up (we were on the sunny side of the building). Biggest beefs for me was - Minhas and Wine and Beyond explicitly stated you could get 2 bottles signed. I bought 1 and had only intended to buy 1 but people, including my friends, got denied the 2nd bottle. Also Wine and Beyond should have queued the first 50 or so people inside - it could have been way colder outside in December after all but I lived and the day was actually decent for standing outside. I have been to the Minhas location in Edmonton in the past and received amazing customer service. I'll stand by my word on that. I buy a lot of their product and quite enjoy it...but it was annoying to see friends be denied on 2 bottles and also some people got outside items signed and some not. I wasn't allowed even though I brought Love Gun vinyl. I went back in after and got some other beer and seen gene signing a drum head. It's so stupid-he's not even a drummer lol so WHY sign that outside item. Must have been 75 people after me, yet I was denied 8th in line 🤷‍♂️?? Seems odd. Rules changed on the fly. I won't blame Wine and Beyond but rather, I feel the whole event was mismanaged. There wasn't even any real security, it was just Minhas people/family trying their best to maintain a huge swell crowd for life long A-List rock star...it's Gene Simmons man....he's gonna bring out thousands of people!!! Minhas should have kept the rules tight - 1 bottle per and no outside items. Just my 2 cents.

Agree that was poorly organized. We knew how many bottles of vodka they had for sale so we were in the line to get in to buy but the Wine and Beyond staff didn’t tell people in the line they have limited number of bottles. He did sign other stuff at first and people could buy 2 bottles each and they said they would limit it to 1 but they didn’t. I’ve meet Gene many times and he didn’t seem his usual talkative and outgoing self. Maybe he was tired from all these signings.

Always trashing Ace and Peter or anyone with substance abuse issues and depression yet he's selling Vodka. He brags about never having been drunk or high but sings cold gin and performs mostly songs from 70's era Kiss in concert. I grew up on the original Kiss and have always enjoyed the band. I just think Paul and Gene are very hypocritical and will do anything for $$$. I'm so glad I haven't spent a dime on Kiss since 2000.

All of the folks in line could've met Gene, and had their wine bottles signed, only if he had stated, upfront, that just the bottles may be signed ~ nothing extra signed, including no photos ... other than those you snap while waiting in line ~ then, and only then, could everyone had the opportinity to say hello. 😊

Man, you should have been at the 2nd signing he had that day, it was way worse than the wine and beyond one. I went to the Wine & Beyond one as well and lined up at 8am. A few days earlier I had emailed them asking if only bottles would be signed and they said no, anything can be signed and no bottle purchase required. When we got there they then put up a sign only 2 bottles per person and no memorabilia. I was 5th in line and when they let us into the store at around 1:30pm, they then said only 1 bottle per person. It was pretty quick that I got my bottle signed as I was at the beginning of the line. I also snug in a comic book that he signed before the dude from Minhas Distillery got mad at other people behind me trying the same thing. I then went to his 2nd signing of the day at the Minhas Tasting Room where we was advertised to be there from 5-8 pm as I wanted more signed bottles and maybe another piece of memorabilia. I got there around 2:45 and only 20 people in the line at this point. It's a very small place so they made us wait outside as well. He actually started early at this signing at around 4:55. I got one bottle and went to the back of the line (around 50 people) to get a third bottle which I got no problem. At this pint is was maybe 5:50pm and only like 10 people in line. So I went into the line again and tried to get a bottle of Kiss Gin signed. When the head guy running the event which was the owner Ravinder Minhas saw that he started yelling at me for bringing a rival product into his house and threatened me if I wouldn't leave the building. I told him that I had already bought 3 bottles from him and asked nicely for a memorabilia to be signed but he was having none of it and just got mad. They also shut the entire event down at 6pm with the explanation that Gene is tired even tho he was advertised to be there until 8pm. Some people arrived just after 6 to get a signed bottle and the doors were already locked. Some even drove 5 hours to get there just to stand in front of a locked door. The entire thing was very poorly organized and run, it should have been like one autograph per bottle purchased either a bottle or something else. Needless to say that Minhas will not get any of my business ever again!

I'd never wait in line just to meet someone. But then again, I grew up and live in NYC. Here, you routinely run into people like Keanu Reeves on the train. Lenny Kravitz lives up the block from me. Paul Rudd lives across the street from where I work. (Paul is the coolest dude ever) So I can't justify paying or waiting in line to meet a celebrity.

I was towards the front of the line and you are bashing Wine and Beyond quite a bit, but based on my experience it was the Minhas people that were the ones changing rules and all kinds of things during the event. The way I saw it is the Wine and Beyond folks were scrambling based on what the Minhas people were changing on them. Even something as simple as the number of bottles you could get signed, there was a big sign saying you could get 2 and even when we went into the store we were handed 2, but once Gene got there it, all of a sudden, it changed to 1. Not disagreeing that it was poorly organized, but my sense was it was the Minhas people, not the store. I've heard some stories from other locations he signed at that were similar.
