Lucrehulk is still the best out of the three, because of its potential versatility. It's still a big ass target, but when you have swarms of fighter droids, kinda starts falling into Imperial Doctrine about overwhelming your opponents. Carries more fighters than a group of Venators, and more ground forces than having multiple Venators and Acclamators, with less overall crew. That's outside of whatever other cargo/supplies needed. The other two are pretty trash in comparison, even though I do like the designs for all of the ships.

There is a partial disconnect with HKD. If the corporation builds super star freighters then the corporation or its contractor would excel in point defense systems. Please consider an vidicle on the current hyperspace engine makers - its a tough market out there when the Imperium fleets tend to grab all the big engine contracts and the regular parts theft from the rebel alliance. What missing is the hyperspace lane maintenance (assuming the sith/imperium fleetships is not messing with hyperspace ship weapons) problem. At present many ships have to rely on in built maps built over decades (mostly during the many wars) and "third party" unofficial maps of hyperspace lane obstacles (debris.moons and the odd supernova and intense radiation clouds and the Deathstars/Deathstar planet debris fields). I feel at bit on the outcore small trader market (like those operating from Mos Eisley for example) is rarely covered considering their lean operation methods and often unofficial ship upgrades to outrun local custom checks
@bigj19055 ай бұрын
HKD’s problem is that they designed the perfect ships for their customers: cheap, replaceable, and heavily automated. But when the Separatists disappeared, the Empire wanted heavy, powerful, and armored battleships, which HDK just couldn’t make.

THe local directors had a blaster put to their heads and told to sing out the command codes that allowed local Imperial logistics officers to take control of the factory. With their defences based mostly around heavy shields, with little hull armour, *solar ionisation cannons,* although expensive and power hungry, would have been a very effective counter. A few ships specially equipped with those mixed in with the GAR fleet (and keeping the same lively as the regular ships) could have inflicted suprise disabling blows. ARC-170s could work with this concept. As well as light cruisers and corvettes with (solar ionisation) Turbolasers that would otherwise be low priority targets as they line up shots that will bypass shields and hit the reactors or bridge.

Another circular freighter! Crazy design choice from a logistical perspective. Think shipping containers.
@mshin2915 ай бұрын
Not really if you consider its size. Lucrehulks are known to have multiple smaller freighters that goes in and out of its "ring". Making it circular will give those freighters enough turning radius inside the ship, so they could reach into every corners within the ring. That means more freighters can move through it with less chance of collision - which also leads to faster loading and overall better profit margin.
@MisterRorschach905 ай бұрын
You should do a video about the rogue-class porax-38 star fighter. It’s the ship cad bane uses and it has an atmospheric speed of 61,000 kph which is basically mach 50. This speed is drastically faster than basically anything ever shown in Star Wars. Other Star Wars ships have maximum atmospheric speeds in the range of 1000-1600 kph.
@jeffreycarman21852 ай бұрын
The Lucrehulk was never (and should never have been) a front-line Capital ship. Instead it was a carrier. Had a Lucrehulk been dedicated to carry only what was needed for ship-to-ship combat, it could have easily carried 1 million droid fighters, just on the inside. If the Lucrehulk had carried hundreds of thousands of droids on the outside as well. I believe that, had the CIS invested more in smarter and tougher droid starfighters and dedicated the Lucrehulk as a carrier, the CIS would have been unstoppable.
