This was super helpful!! Moved into a house last year with 3 car garage and only 2 remotes. Your video helped me program the garage door with the missing remote to an existing remote. Then changed the dip switches on the garage door opener (so the old remote, if found won't work on it w/o being reprogrammed). Then used that remote to program the garage door (with the missing remote) to my homelink in my car. Change the remote back to the original garage door opener.

@@otonieldabeast I would use a Chamberlain universal remote "Clicker". Follow this video. When it comes to the part where you press in and out on the remote, do it 18 times.

Sounds like you have a weak reciever. Either get an external reciever or update the opener.

I have a 1992 blue max model 12A garage door opener and I don’t see any dip switches on it. I have a genie 912 remote control with 12 dip switches but now I’m confused. Please help, thank you. My other garage door works fine with the original blue max remote. When we bought the house one remote was missing.

If the machine doesn't have dip switches then you have a learn button. Which a 912 remote won't work with.

Unfortunately no Chico. You would have to purchase an external receiver. Then program the keypad to the receiver.

I have Bluemax with 12 dip switches. I got a LiftMastet 375UT remote, same as what the technician programmed for me. I matched the dip switches on the new remote but it still doesn’t work. Do I need to click the small button inside the remote first?

Yes. There's couple more steps after that. You have to press the button a certain amount of times until the machine starts to operate. Then press the little button again.

Then I clicked one of the remote buttons 5 times then clicked the small button again but it still not working. When I was pressing the remote button I waited until the light stopped blinking after each button press.

The LED on the Universal Remote Control must stop blinking between each press of the button. The code is accepted when the garage door opener responds by clicking, blinking, or activating. Then press and release the small button. ✅

Keypads are tough for dip switches. I would have tech support help. Give them a call.

@@garagedoorgenius after about an hour of Research, I found the right process. The dip switch sequence is the garage door code. You enter the pin them #, then you enter the code with star afterward. Then you’re all set! I’ve loved in my house for 7 years and just now was able to get this figured out!

Yes, super easy. Clear the memory in the car. Hold remote 3-5 inches away from the Homelink. Press both, Homelink button and remote until Homelink led begins to flash fast. Done!!

I have the same & for some reason I have to suddenly press the button on the remote 15-20 times before the garage door finally closes. I've replaced two batteries inside the remote & it didn't make any difference. Any idea why this is happening? I've done nothing unsual with the remote, it literally just stopped working over night. It's embarrassing to have to pull out of my garage & sit there clicking the remote for 5mins before it finally engages.

I brought a deep switch remote and it works great. The only problem I have with it is the battery doesn't even last two weeks. I just brought a WiFi garage door opener, but it turned out that the deep switch system doesn't have a learn button. Is there a way to program a deep switch garage door opener with a WiFi system? Check the safety sensors. Make sure they are lined up.
