Hey thanks, I just bought a foreclosure condominium and the prior people took the front door keys and the garage door remote ( probably to loot my place at a later date ). But I called a garage door service agent and they wanted $75.00 to just show up, $65.00 for a remote, and $75.00 to erase the old code and to program in a new code. Total = $215.00 to get it working. I bought a new remote at H.D. for $31.00 and I followed your directions, and it works good as new. You saved me $184.00 . thank you :)

Wife bought new car. Old car had home link. New car does not. Needed to buy new Genie remote for 12 year old genie opener. Instruction for new remote were for programming on new opener. This video clarified everything for me. 1. the LED blinked on the opener when i pushed the remote button. This confirmed it was compatible. 2. Video showed how to put older opener in programming mode. 3. Video demonstrated the process of pushing the button on the remote and seeing the LED blink. Thanks for making life easy.

I have this Genie Intellicode garage door opener. I went through the steps to reprogram a remote. Unfortunately, I could not get the remote to work. This remote has three different activation buttons. I have two Genie garage door openers, and I was able to get one button to work on the newer opener but not on my other opener, which is this Genie Intellicode garage door opener. I tried several times with no luck with this remote (Model # GICT390).

im done at step 1. the light doesnt blink when i push the button? the garage door works with the wall switch, another remote that we have and used to work with the key fob until it broke.

Pay no attention to the thumbs down you get. Simple. to the point. Uses pictures well. Is it a complete how to on diagnosing door operators? No. In the future it would e helpful to understand the model numbers of the equipment involved

What if my remote was stolen and location is unknown...will clearing the code disable a remote that is miles away? When I program the NEW remote will the old one still be disabled if the person who stole the old one comes back and tries to use it?

So when you clear the code, the opener automatically creates a new random code for itself? So, the old code will never work again, right and how many possible code combinations there are, as in, what are the chances a neighbor's remote will now work on it after clearing?

My daughter has the intellicode garage opener, intermittent flashing red light, checked the two sensors and the red one was dirty. After that it work d but then stopped working trying to install a new remote. Any ideas?

If I have 3 remotes, i would set each remote independently by pressing the program button and press each remote 3 times and it would be using the same signal/code? (Right now my next door is having the same signal and we can open each others garage door)

Phungurific Yes, be sure to clear all old codes first by holding the program button on the motor until the light goes out. Then reprogram each remote one at a time.

Thank you for this video. Very well done. I had one of my remotes stolen out of my car so your video helped me successfully erase and reprogram one of the remotes. The other remote, which is identical does not trigger the light so it tells me it is not compatible. I checked the battery and that is not it. Suggestions for the non-working remote?

I have 2 remotes for my garage door opener but one quit working. I swapped out the battery and that one still doesn't work. The other still works fine. I reprogrammed the one that wasn't working as shown in this video. It started working right after 3rd press. However, later it quit working again. I did this twice and it's the same. Soon after the reprogramming it quit working. The one good remote always works though. It's a pain! Anyone got any ideas?

Hi guys...i have the same type of remote and the inner panel of my Genie Pro looks similar to the one in this video. My old remote self-destructed so Im trying to link a new remote to an old opener motor. When i press the program button on the motor the red light does blink. When I press the button on the remote the light stays red. But when i press the remote the 2nd time the light doesn't go out but rather blinks about 15 times then goes out. When I press the remote button again to see if I can open the door the red light does blink but I get no action. When I press one of the other remote buttons for the heck of it the red light also blinks. I even tried your erase steps and reprogram and i get the same results. Hope you can help. - Scott

+Scott Wilkinson What model is the new remote? I have the same problem trying to program to older model Genie openers. Genie has a few series of intellicode receivers. You need the older model remote. I have had much success with The Clicker Universal Remote. KLIK3U or LiftMaster 375UT. See if you can return the remote and get The Clicker. You can use it in the future when you have to replace the opener.

+G S Overhead Systems My wifes remote is the Genie 3 button transmitter as they call it. The old remote that worked before self- destructing was single button, all grey with a womans figure shape. Its no longer available so i ordered its direct replacement to arrive soon. Its the GICT390-1BL (1 button intellicode-Door Opener Compact)

I should mention that this remote used to work for my wife, then suddenly one day it stopped. I do get a green light when i press the two upper buttons. When i press the lowest 3rd button the light changes to red

Didn't work but easy fix. A tiny bit of battery acid must of leaked. Scratched off the green & bent the metal to hug the battery more in the remote was the fix....wife's happy
