Axel, a boxer dog, used to feel like the baby of the family son until his owners surprised him with Miriam, a tiny human sister. At first, Axel was jealous and even cried over her because he wasn't accustomed to sharing his pawrents with anyone else. But, as time passed, Axel allowed Miriam to take charge of their relationship. Now, they’re like two peas in a pod, sharing food, toys, and mum’s kisses.

This brought me to tears. Im convinced its a boxers DNA the way they are with babies. My boxer would give its life for the safety of my baby son. My son would pull his ears, unintentionally poke his eyes, and my boxer would just take it without even flinching. Or if the baby was on the move and my boxer would look from different angles to see if the baby was within my eyes field of view and would half-bark, like a umpf, to get my attention that the baby was almost out of my range of vision. And we never trained him to do that, its just something our boxer started to do. I like the sound of boxers smelling. Its like a bunch of sniffs in in in in in in in and then a big long one out.

Definitely yes 👍… my lovely great uncle was inspired to me to trust his two gorgeous & friendly Boxer dogs when I was five years old … they were so gentle to play with me in good fun without having a problem as all the wonderful Boxer dogs are so brilliant with a sense of belonging. Then later I was very proud to own my magnificent Boxer dog, trained him to respect all the children & those fell in love with him. Boxer dogs are always legendary in gentleness to all the babies & children 🙏❤️

The 1st time my son, who is in his fifties, saw a pic of our new boxer, she was 1 yr old..he said, "she looks intimidating!" Soon found out she was a sweet, crazy, loving, funny great pet...boxers are so into their people..not a mean bone in their bodies...

Kids inevitably learn behaviors from each other. I wonder if, one day when Grandma or Grandpa come over, and you tell Miriam to give them a kiss, she will LICK their faces!

Probably. There’s a great video of a guy throwing his dog a ball with his two little kids. The kids hand him another ball. He throws it, and then they run and pick it up with their mouths and bring it back and drop it by them. It’s adorable. He said they started doing it on their own. (I think he had different color-coded balls for dog vs person, so no worries there.)

I think dogs always want to lick faces of babies cause that’s their greeting with other dogs to say hi and of course, see what food you found. I think it gives them a “taste” if the baby’s scent cause it’s a new sibling for them! Of course, dogs NEVER get jealous when you pay attention to a sibling more. I love when they get excited and watch and hang with babies all day. They get so happy having the new scent of the new family member too! Pets bring so much fun to life. I wish everyone would get a pet, including most stores. Who doesn’t love seeing the “store cat” when they go somewhere. It brings a little bit of extra happiness every time you come in!

Boxers are lovely dogs. Gentle, loving, and very protective, especially of their children. The problem is the woman won't stop saying NO! NO! NOOOO! Just like wolves, dogs lick the faces of their fellow pack members. And they share food. Saying no too much can harm the child's self esteem, and the dogs trust. (dogs do think and feel) And she says no, way too much.
