Wow. Wasnt expecting to feel such a difference between the left side of my body and the right side when I stood up. The left side feels very solid, connected with my whole body. Very interesting. Thank you.

Wacko! This really softened up very stiff and painful base joints of my big toes. Once my left big toe was free, I had to do the right one too! It insisted! Now both are much happier, thank you Alfons xxxx

❤️ Thanks so much for this series. I had ankle surgery 21 years ago that traumatized my Achilles tendon. I can’t believe that only a few weeks of dedicated focus on my movements can make such an improvement. Like others in the comments, I feel improves throughout my body.

great video. my balanced increased a lot since I've realised i was in a swayback posture ( glute dominant / severe posterior tilt) with tose splaying out, now I just have to grab the floor with my toes to bring it a bit more to neutral towards an anterior pelvic tilt and my balance is greater then before, my 2'o clock shoulder kicked in quite fast and now i can keep my wheight on the front leg :D

Alfons, can you put together a lesson on how to remove the pressure from neuromas? Eye have four… which is terrible. People with one suffer enough. They can be removed surgically, but they often regrow into a stump neuroma so I don’t think it’s worth it for now at least. Toe spacers help as the spread the metatarsal bones away from the nerve bundles. I also have plantar fasciitis in both feet.

Thank you I really enjoyed this. Yes allot of talking for meditation.lol but you are funny. I loved the image of the shoulders hanging off of neck like an umbrella! I enjoy learning from you. I have been taught that shaking you feel is called Sensory motor amnesia (SMA). This is the term taught by Thomas Hanna. This beautiful way of moving slow can not only bring awareness but can also release tension and teach you to move in a more enjoyable and organized way. I would be curious to hear your thoughts? thank you again Alfons..another question has the over weight bearing towards big toe helped to form the bunion ?If so those bones pull muscle on one side of foot and that migrates through whole body...I like how your Feldys teach me about bones :)

Thank you for your feedback Darlene! Yes, anatomically speaking the shoulders are indeed hanging off the neck! I too like the image. Regarding your question: I think there are many types of shaking! Here I'm referring to a specific deep tendon reflex, which can help us with walking lightly and easily. In his book "Somatics" Thomas Hanna defines SMA like this: "It is a memory loss of how certain muscle groups feel and how to control them. And, because this occurs within the central nervous system, we are not aware of it, yet it affects us to our core. Our image of who we are, what we can experience, and what we can do is profoundly diminished by sensory-motor amnesia." Indeed a memory loss! Or in the case of the "Don't do that reflex" 🤪 a wilful suppression and over-control ... I think we can do both: to sit still and pretty and don't move the leg, or shake it if we want to. Freedom of choice!

@@ImprovingAbility Thank you I love choice ! It is freedom for sure. In his book Somatics Thomas Hanna teaches a technique called Pandiculation (contraction to a slow release and rest) This smooths out the confused area of shake (SMA)to make for easier movement, and then of coarse it is integrated through the whole being. I find it reteaches (really works:) to release over tonus of muscles held tightly by the nervous system.I would like to know more about deep tendon reflex. Thank you for making me think :)

When I lift my heel the toes curl in

Interesting observation and great question! My suggestion: during this lesson, in a safe setting of slow moving and with great care, learn to do both ways. Especially in the variation where you lift your knee and take weight off your toes it makes sense for them to not curl in. Contrariwise, when you put weight onto them, it makes sense when they tense up and spring-load for walking, running, and jumping.

@@ImprovingAbility thank you so much for your reply ! I will try the move both ways today . I have noticed that my right lower leg shakes this way involuntary when I lift my knee and take the weight off
