Stayed in Sawasdee Siam in 1998 and 1999, was 300 Baht a night including breakfast and quiet back then, times changed Best wishes from Belgium 🙏🏻🍺

i stayed a couple of nights way back in 2004 i think. Sawasdee had several hotels in pattaya and back then and this was their flagship hotel at the time was a great location but so many new bars around it now and i,m a little older, prefer to be a street or 2 away from the main late night bars now, cheers

Good Afternoon Geoff. I know that you had to move out of your hotel, but this hotel you are now staying in are far Greater. What a really Wonderful and Comfortable Modern room you are now staying in. Lovely and roomy, Gorgeous Kingsize Bed to sleep in and Re-couperate ones self. What a Superb balcony to admire the view, and what a view. I would score this Hotel and it's very Lovely Decor 10++/10. Stayed there in January 2023, in a good location I was at the front, a few large whiskys and I was asleep lol, try the in town Hotel soi Honey was OK roof top pool, and little coffee shop at the side, enjoy stay safe beep beep, All the best for the NEW YEAR 🎉🎉 🍻🍻

I stayed at Sawadee Siam in 2016 and watched them from my room start the foundations of the first version Tree town. I had booked 2 weeks but checked out after a few days into the Adelphi 😅, even my guests thought it was rough 😂. Happy New year!

hi, Geoff , stayed at Siam many times over the years, basic room before covid were around 600 or less high season, many basic rooms only had a mattress on the floor, (no bed as such) when i questioned it they told me it was based on a Japanese preference hahaha,,, believe that or not! and as an older person it was hard to get out of bed as only a few inches off the floor,,,, , rooms are not just dated but shabby i found ,, but you sometimes only get what you pay for!! happy new year too you !

Both nice places. I usually prefer to stay much cheaper. I like to find places closer to 40 USD per night. That way my Chang budget is a lot higher.

Happy new year Geoff, I stayed at Sawasdee Siam in March last year, it was really cheap, as you say nice pool, nice staff and central location but the noise from Tree Town was too much for me, it's like there is a band in the room with you. I was happy to shift a few days early to somewhere quieter. The new hotel looks great.

I stayed at the Sawadee 9 years ago,and it was a sithole. Toilet not cleaned, wardrobe door hanging off,Air conn was a floor standing unit and bloody noisy. 80% full of Russians,Breakfast cleaned out by them,no more food available.Out dated totally then,much the same now by the comment from you. I moved out and went Opey de place on Lengkee. And I successfully claimed my Money back from the company I booked with.

only happened to me once in cos .after 30 minuets panic i bumped into a bar owner i had spent a good few nights there anyway his mother had an appartmen that she would rent out at half the price of the hotell so sorted. the new place looks good Geoff enjoy the rest of your holliday.

I am over in 2 weeks, and I was looking that end of town as the hotels are posher for the same money!👍 Since you are that end of town, you could check out Wong Amat Beach which is supposed to be very nice...

If you're staying in one place/city longer than 2 weeks look at airbnb mate. You can get a small apartment for £400 maybe cheaper for one month in Pattaya. but because you're in Pattaya you maybe able to arrange to view the apartment before paying for anything. that's what I would do. You can only ask. Booking hotels at this time of year for a few days at a time will cost you a lot more money. Much better hotel and will be more peaceful. Hope you enjoy your stay. Your right about the noise my last stay they turned music off at 2pm that's when i finally got to sleep so will be looking outside the party areas from now on, 4pm would be a nightmare. Moral if looking for accommodation do not stay in the party zone.

We stayed at the Siam Sawasdee in early 2000 . The only difference since then is a Lick of Paint & a new Air con. Noisy. Would be even worse nowdays with Tree Town there. And the beds are as hard as a Cat's Head. Better Breakfasts on Soi Buakhow. The Old Purple Palace . But the Pool was good. And all of the girls in Soi Honey were all shouting out , hello sexyman when you were in the Pool .

Wow used to stop there in 90s when I was skint 200/300 a night, looks just the same not had a refurb in 30 years.Long before tree town there was a bar complex known as the cowshed Pook had the 1st bar on the left in it.

Just stumbled on your channel and I’m thinking Ive heard that voice before 🤔 then it came to me, you were sitting behind me in the hungry hippo soi buakhao about the time you did this video. My mate had to book a hotel as his girl had thrown him out of her condo and it was that one you’ve stayed in (blue one) I’m sorrry but I couldn’t stay in that hotel when I went to his room and seen how basic it was, his air con didn’t work and just a mattress on the floor.. definitely recommend using the bolt app for the taxi and bike taxis. I’ll check out your vids now I’ve stumbled on it.

The safety deposit boxes at Siam are big but not nailed down a potential thief could pick the entire safe and walk out with it to open at a later date . Really they need screwing down from the inside

It's best to book online even when standing at the reception I used to book via app then showed them my booking :-) the apps like agoda etc.. will almost always give you better price than booking at the spot. At least when I was there a year ago that was the case.. 1200 bath a night hotel at the desk we booked after we arrived for the first few nights could have been about 1000 online..
