Wow this video popped up and I am so impressed with this guy. He is so articulate and smart. He seems confident but not one bit of arrogance. He is considerate like he wasn’t offended By the fact that some people will come and just want to know what the diet is and then they’re gonna leave in the middle of the video. What an awesome young man

I’ve definitely been over eating junk foods the past couple of years and despite never being confident and comfortable in my body, I never really put in the effort to change. These past few months I’ve really been pushing myself in other areas such as work, school, ect. I’ve decided to now really focus on health and a healthy diet/lifestyle.

Great video !! Fun fact: instead of throwing away the scraps from the veggies/produce. You could boil them in some water with added herbs & garlic to make a veggie stock/broth! To get more use of all the produce! I could imagine that’d be good to use in that farro (sorry if I misspelled) instead of water!

I’ve lost 30 pounds in three months and I did it primarily by changing my diet. I just am careful now what I eat I stopped eating so much garbage. I stop drinking soda I used to drink a lot of soda. Now I drink zero soda, I don’t eat sweets anymore. A very little bread and pasta where I eat used to eat a lot of both. I quit eating fast food, are used to eat a lot of fast food especially hamburgers. It’s been three months since I’ve ate a hamburger I’ve been to weird days a couple times but each time I got a salad and a grilled chicken sandwich, and nothing to drink. Now I use sugar-free powdered drink flavoring that I use in water. That’s what I drink now in place of soda. I eat a lot of fresh fruit now which I did not used to do, I try to pay attention to calories, and use a program to monitor them

Protein in all its forms, plus as much veg as you can in every different way. Fruit only in moderation. Learn to cook, too. It’ll change everything. This guy’s aversion to the meat of animals as well as well as dairy, isn’t sound. So long as good husbandry is used- wild caught fish, grass fed and finished land animals -- it’s an excellent source of nutrition.

I can't imagine how hard it is to cater to 7 people's food preferences! Hopefully this "component" meal prep approach is some help. I'm similar to you with feelings about coffee; after being off it for close to 6 months, I started drinking again. I just really like the taste and the "ritual" of having it by the window first thing in the morning. I suppose I could be equally happy with tea or something, but haven't tried. Consistency is more important than perfect though -- so if one cup of coffee each day makes you happier and helps you stick to the eating program, I think it's a good compromise 😊

Thank you so much! Healthy eating during the pandemic is a bit harder than in “normal” times, but more important than ever. It’s so easy to fall into comfort / emotional eating.

@@GeoffreyAlan Do you add water when you are cooking your mushrooms? Or is there enough moisture without adding water? I add water for onions. In fact, I add a lot of water so I don't have to stir or watch the pan and then once the water evaporates, I let them brown for a minute or so.

I recommend using Minute Maid frozen lemon juice instead of the bottled Real Lemon juice. You will be amazed at the difference in taste! It stays fresh in your refrigerator (after thawing) for about two weeks , but it never lasts that long in our house. We keep it in the fridge at all times - it comes in a squeeze bottle for a quick squirt into a glass of water. It’s the next best thing to fresh lemon! Most supermarkets carry it in the frozen juice section. Give it a try! 😀

I lost 35 pounds in 2 months but my period stopped for almost just as long... My body basically went into starvation mode (I'm vegan & was eating every 2 - 3 hrs) so it probably was a little too fast, to be honest.

@Ilovechickpeas 3 жыл бұрын
You probably needed more fat in your diet with nuts, seeds, avocados etc. I have been vegan for six years and never lost my period. Just got blood tests done and doc and specifically asked my doc to check certain things since I am vegan, but she said everything was great with my results. I also eat a little bit of olive oil and canola oil (I use these sparingly). Also take a good multi v with omega supplement and b12.

A 30 pound weight loss in 3 months is NOT considered dramatic, it is considered normal. Any doctor who gives you ANY diet wants the patient to lose between two and two and a half pounds per week, which is exactly what you lost!!! Literally any diet restriction that you actually perform for a full three months are going to have the same results, whether you are doing Keto, Vegan, Vegetarian or the heart diet!!!! I am so glad that you like eating nothing but vegetables, but you need more than vegetables for heart, lung and over-all health. Losing weight is only one step of the equation, and it can be accomplished in so so many different ways!

When I lost weight 10 years ago people would say “Oh you lost so much weight. You look TOO thin!” I of course heard “Go ahead and eat a lot more food and don’t eat healthy the way you’ve been doing.” Now I gained back all the weight I lost and then some. I think, no I KNOW, I’ve finally reached the point where I have to listen to ME. Good luck everyone with your healthy eating.

Just following this video will get you 90% there. The book includes loads of recipes, which is helpful for not getting bored. It also gives more background to help set you up. The knives I use are JA Henckels. Not sure which set exactly, the blades say “Forged Premio German Stainless Steel made in China” - I believe it was around $200 for the set which includes a chef knife, santoku knife, paring knife, serrated utility knife, honing steel, and steak knives. I like the set overall and have had it for 7-8 years.
