I’ve lost 30 pounds in three months and I did it primarily by changing my diet. I just am careful now what I eat I stopped eating so much garbage. I stop drinking soda I used to drink a lot of soda. Now I drink zero soda, I don’t eat sweets anymore. A very little bread and pasta where I eat used to eat a lot of both. I quit eating fast food, are used to eat a lot of fast food especially hamburgers. It’s been three months since I’ve ate a hamburger I’ve been to weird days a couple times but each time I got a salad and a grilled chicken sandwich, and nothing to drink. Now I use sugar-free powdered drink flavoring that I use in water. That’s what I drink now in place of soda. I eat a lot of fresh fruit now which I did not used to do, I try to pay attention to calories, and use a program to monitor them

I can't imagine how hard it is to cater to 7 people's food preferences! Hopefully this "component" meal prep approach is some help. I'm similar to you with feelings about coffee; after being off it for close to 6 months, I started drinking again. I just really like the taste and the "ritual" of having it by the window first thing in the morning. I suppose I could be equally happy with tea or something, but haven't tried. Consistency is more important than perfect though -- so if one cup of coffee each day makes you happier and helps you stick to the eating program, I think it's a good compromise 😊

I recommend using Minute Maid frozen lemon juice instead of the bottled Real Lemon juice. You will be amazed at the difference in taste! It stays fresh in your refrigerator (after thawing) for about two weeks , but it never lasts that long in our house. Also Love this video! was the first time I’ve watched him and subscribed immediately! eating healthy vegetables and getting sugar out of my life has been a struggle! he makes it seem so easy- but I was wondering what kind of dressing does he put on his salad before he eats it? he doesn’t eat it just w/dry veggies does he? He never said.

I just got back from a junk food laden 4 day trip to Montana. I could not wait to get him to my super healthy salad and veggie filled fridge. It was heaven to open the fridge door and to see all the good foods that I love.

You are correct when you say ‘I eat plant based’. Veganism is a lifestyle not just a eating program. I never say I am a vegan but follow a whole food, plant based diet.

A 30 pound weight loss in 3 months is NOT considered dramatic, it is considered normal. Any doctor who gives you ANY diet wants the patient to lose between two and two and a half pounds per week, which is exactly what you lost!!! Literally any diet restriction that you actually perform for a full three months are going to have the same results, whether you are doing Keto, Vegan, Vegetarian or the heart diet!!!! I am so glad that you like eating nothing but vegetables, but you need more than vegetables for heart, lung and over-all health. Losing weight is only one step of the equation, and it can be accomplished in so so many different ways!

Mushrooms should not be washed, just wiped with kitchen towel.

True, but who is going to wipe sliced mushrooms? Ain't nobody got time for that!

Fresh garlic and lemon juice is best for homous - if you blend the chickpeas garlic and ginger first, followed by the tahini and other ingredients you’ll achieve a finer outcome - also you can make babaghanoush using the same ingredients just swap the chickpeas with baked eggplant

I get incredibly fustrated when people say " damn dude you lost weight" Like its a bad thing. People are so used to being out of shape they think its normal. No buddy you are not normal.

When I lost weight 10 years ago people would say “Oh you lost so much weight. You look TOO thin!” I of course heard “Go ahead and eat a lot more food and don’t eat healthy the way you’ve been doing.” Now I gained back all the weight I lost and then some. I think, no I KNOW, I’ve finally reached the point where I have to listen to ME. Good luck everyone with your healthy eating.

You know 🤔 I really think I can maintain this diet for 90 days. I don’t eat any animal products. The only thing is every now and then I would like to have something sweet. If I can eat berries I will be a happy camper. Thanks for sharing I will comment to this meal plan. I need to lose little more weight.

I have watched this a few times for inspiration this week. I read that book a few years ago, but didn't do anything after reading it. I wish you were my neighbor. You seem so kind, gentle, caring. I appreciate your honesty in how you started, what you did to keep motivated and create new recipes, COVID and going a little backwards, BUT MOVING FORWARD, with lots of new information and knowledge. My big cutting bowl and cutter will be here today!🙂I really found that to be an awesome tip. The SALAD DRESSING information will be my BIGGEST help. I am starting March 26 to June 8 due to work/covid changes. Committed and will assess from there. The universe sent me a gift 😊❤️😇 when I found your channel. blessings and thank you for being you!!!

I think it makes a lot of sense to have your vegetables all prepared but worry that they are no longer fresh by the end of the week. Have you noticed a problem with them by day 7?

Fabulous!!! Absolutely fantastic video!! So real! Congratulations on your weight loss!!! As it happens I did the same and lost 7 kg. Although I had one cooked meal (different vegetable rice and beans and lentil dishes) for lunch and a big salad for dinner. Love your channel ♥️♥️♥️♥️

I just started this same approach to weight loss a few weeks ago. Plant based, but would not consider myself a “vegan”. I hope I have the same willpower that you do! Thanks for sharing

Thank you! I'm excited to try this. Two questions: 1. Do I need to buy the book or can I just follow this video? 2. What knives do you use? Thanks! :)
@GeoffreyAlan4 жыл бұрын
Just following this video will get you 90% there. The book includes loads of recipes, which is helpful for not getting bored. It also gives more background to help set you up. The knives I use are JA Henckels. Not sure which set exactly, the blades say “Forged Premio German Stainless Steel made in China” - I believe it was around $200 for the set which includes a chef knife, santoku knife, paring knife, serrated utility knife, honing steel, and steak knives. I like the set overall and have had it for 7-8 years.
