Watching this performance makes me realize how accurate Joquian Phenox nailed his role of Johnny.

Johnny is playing his recently acquired custom Gibson J-200 guitar. This was the replacement J-200 as his first one, acquired in 1958, was destroyed. It is thought that the neck on the broken guitar was used on the replacement, which Johnny ordered in May of 1959. This is the guitar on display at the Johnny Cash Museum is Nashville, TN

Well .. of course, with all due respect, if Johnny Cash wanted to make a fortune just by playing the guitar, without singing, certainly Gibson would not have dedicated a model to him. I think cast member Johnny Bond lent the Jag to Luther. Johnny had just acquired a Jaguar guitar and played it regularly on Town Hall Party. I can't recall seeing Luther playing a Jaguar anywhere else. Perhaps I'm wrong?
