In this fascinating interview with Bioenergetic Health researcher Georgi Dinkov we discuss whether serotonin is really as good for our mental health as we've been told. Georgi explains how serotonin could be driving schizophrenia, psychosis, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. He tells us natural methods we can experiment with to lower our serotonin exposure, as well as how this will simultaneously raise our dopamine. Most interestingly for me, he also explains some of the connections between this bioenergetic health perspective and traditional Chinese medicine, drawing on his past experience with the Eagle Style Kung Fu internal martial art.

I wonder if it’s because I was homeschooled- but I’ve found it shocking how few people understand that anyone can learn anything. The “expert” mentality is destroying progress and science (real science) in my opinion. I’m glad he shared his story- more people need to know that they are capable if they are interested. You learn how to ask the right questions when you tackle new material, and the more you learn without relying on “experts,” the more you see that their views are often opinion based. “Experts” are helpful but I’ve learned quickly if they are not explaining the biochemistry in an understandable way- they are probably replying on a presupposition rather then on data driven information. They are using and manipulating data to prove a set theory that they are personally tied to. It’s human nature, and it’s why we should always keep digging.

Wherever Georgi and Ray Peat goes.... there I am. I can say that everything in this video is true. I've been studying for over 16 years on my own including 6+ years listening and reading from Ray Peat and Georgi Dinkov. The Danny Roddy Generative Energy podcasts are priceless. We have the keys to health already. But it's much deeper. We are under great threat from the evil one. Educate yourselves wisely. Use logic, reason and intuituon. Always listen to your gut and also your heart but filter these heart signals through the mind. Observe yourself. Know yourself. Learn to know your enemy. We all have the lizard within us. And we all have God within.

Serotogenic personalities. Dopamine makes you crave novelty.
@alistairproductions
@alistairproductions 2 жыл бұрын
@@baaaaaa2898 I think the jungian style types, and similar models certainly feature certain types that wouldn't be described as novelty seeking, and I don't think it's due to some nutritional error or the wrong hormones, "neurotransmitters" (for lack of better term) expressing. Maybe within any given type they could be more or less novelty seeking due to those factors.. I'm inclined to believe in type, that's it's fairly rigid. I don't believe all healthy people will necessarily come off to others as creative
@baaaaaa2898
@baaaaaa2898 2 жыл бұрын
@@alistairproductions It could very well be true what you say. Not everything can be explained by a “thing” , chemical reaction, neurotransmitter, hormones etc. Still those things matter. Many inrividuals that do not seek novelty simply lack energy to meet the demand to do something new and out of the routine. I am sure even the most rigid personalities are sometimes feeling “playful” and ready to explore new things depending on their current state being more optimal.
@alistairproductions
@alistairproductions 2 жыл бұрын
@@baaaaaa2898 yeah, even with the 16 types things no type is inherently creative or dull. But from an outsiders perspective, if they have an idea of what constitutes plainness vs exploration, my concern was maybe they'd pathologize simplicity and routine, when really the individual might be living well

Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) apparently decrease serotonin in the brain and lowers catecholamines, something to the effect that it does that by competing with tryptophan and tyrosine for the amino transport... I consumed it for couple of days when it was available at my local grocery as sports drink, and surprisingly the auditory hallucinations lessened, as well as my headache... it could be an interesting dietary angle to look at

How about discussion directed more toward what's happening further upstream than hormones, bioenergetics, and biochemistry. These topics only scratch the surface, biophysics directs everything. Have to recognize the quantum and then have some knowledge with application of that knowledge, This is where the real game of life is being played and this is where you'll find the truest-truth. Get the fundamentals down and everything else will follow. Don't miss the white elephant that is sitting in your living room, it is where you need to start. The general practice of meditation, yoga, tai chi, etc are good practices but the same concepts can be applied with more specific applications that are quick, efficient, and effective and produce demonstrable change in real time, that's what I'm talking about.

Gosh that’s hard, I’m so sorry. I suppose a big takeaway here it that cyproheptadine may help serotonin syndrome and dopamine may not be the culprit we think it is. In my experience very hard to help anyone who doesn’t know they need help, which is so often the case with Schizo disorders. Anything that helps lower stress for them I think is helpful. Massage, yoga, healthy diet, l-theanine, GABA, emodin, all useful in small ways I think.

This is fascinating but I think a lot of the ideas are a bit off. Its not excess serotonin that causes these hallucinations but its the antihistamine effect blocking the immune system from reacting to food allergens like gluten and casein. My friend is taking abilify and it acts like a phytoestrogen sort of in the sense that it binds to the receptors of dopamine activating it but it is much weaker than dopamine and blocks it. It also has serotonin blocking activity AND antihistamine properties as well. Estrogen is thought to act like an antipsychotic because women have a much lower frequency of schizophrenia and I think it's due to its immune suppressing effect which ironically enough is also why women suffer from more autoimmune diseases over all
@wehz0r
@wehz0r 9 ай бұрын
Schizophrenia may be caused in large part due to an allergen in gluten and dairy products and that is brought up by Dr John McDougall and is still up on hos website after many years. What supposedly happens is intact peptides from gluten and dairy can get into the blood and brain through leaky gut and there it binds with antigens. These antibody antigen complexes form the hallucinations and youd never know because these are common foods consumed by nearly everyone

@SeknaTS Жыл бұрын
If you tolerate starch well, then it's not too bad. Sourdough is better I think. There is still gluten, but very little compared to unsprouted, unfermented bread. There is also more protein as the gluten has a high nitrogen content, and the enzymes during soaking and sprouting create a higher amino acid to nitrogen ratio. The starch is probably broken down more, too, making it more quickly digestible, but I'm not sure.
