Upping your vitamin E intake will help to chelate iron. If you eat a lot of red meat you'll probably need more than what you can get from diet alone. Shoot for around 400-800 IUs. Also drinking coffee with meals can help block some of the iron, but this is most effective with plant based irons. Heme iron is barely affected by coffee.

I have battled SIBO for a couple of years and not even carnivore resolved that. I'm on an animal based diet now and I have continuously battled SIBO. I have tried white rice these last couple of weeks, just to add some variation and to my surprise my bloating is almost gone!! Did not expect that to happen! I would love to hear why that should even be possible?? I'm not going to eat rice as a staple but I really would like to know how on earth adding resistant starch (bcs I almost always eat it cold or reheated) would resolve my SIBO if it's that bad? I also remember seeing in different diet groups on fb that serveral people have resolved their histamine issues by eating resistant starch. Hm, I think there's some nuances to this whole resistant starch thing!
@VansLegacy2 жыл бұрын
SIBO is a sign of low thyroid and metabolism. You adding rice most likely sped up your metabolism and the carbs also aided in digestion and energized your intestine and organs to produce the necessary digestive enzymes. Now that you’re exposed to Georgi’s work, I suggest you look into his other podcasts with Danny Roddy. Also Jay Feldman as well.

Let me start by saying I'm pretty much onboard with everything Carnivore 2.0 teaches but I'm struggling with the 'runners tummy' conversation. Are we saying that chronic 'grey zone' running (the sort where you sit at that middle ground or even higher at threshold, for prolonged time periods between purely aerobic and anaerobic response) is potentially harmful? I could probably get onboard with that... But surely movement over undulating natural terrain (not flat paved roads) at a low aerobic zone (e.g. 130bpm and under with running that is broken up into hiking, walking, jumping, water stops... Replicating what we are literally designed/ evolved to do) is surely beneficial. I'm speaking as a person who spends a lot of time on the fells in the lake District (England) and I've never (honestly never) got an upset stomach from running. I'm commenting as a 34 year old who has been extremely active my entire life, not someone just starting.

Unlike fluoxetine which is a sigma 1 antagonist, fluvoxamine is a sigma 1 agonist which has postive effects on dopamine. There are three theories of depression, the theory of serotonin, the theory of inflamation and the theory of neurogenesis. Weather or not serotonin levels effect depression, fluvoxamine and other ssris lower inflamation and increase neurogenesis. I think you can definetly be skeptical of the importance of serotonin, but its really not accurate to say these drugs dont work. I really think fluvoxamine is the best ssri. I get essentially no side effects, apart from some very mild sexual effects which really arent a big deal.

probably not, it's too early for that... do strict keto for a few months, get fat adapted, feel what the hype is about first and then consider experimenting, basics first (thomas delauer, dr. berg).

I'm very interested into starting this diet. For me it seems like an ideal and most ancestral diet we can eat. But I have some questions that some of you here could potencionally answer me. As far as I think I never had a good ability to digest red meat - it kinda sits in my stomach. Do you have any solutions for that? Cause I know that it's the most nutritious meat ever, but I constantly burp when I eat some amount of that. Is this problem solvable? Can even I eat this amazing animal based diet? Will my body adapt to it when I start eating it more often? I would be so glad for answers. Much love from Czech Republic!

@Dewon Hodls You realise that there are studies that 'prove' the health benefits of all types of eating? I could go keto and get studies to back up my points. I can go paleo and get studies. The Atkins diet, I can get studies. Fruitarian, low fat/high carb, high fat/low carb, low protein, high starch (Mcdougall etc), low methionine... You name it. Why do you think there are so many nutritional 'experts' that don't spout the same thing. Everyone has a different opinion? In other words, human beings still haven't got a clue. We speculate on what we used to eat, but again, all the experts disagree, and they all go off in their own directions and champion different nutritional approaches. So no. Science isn't just one thing. By your comment, I am guessing you are a salty carnivore/keto head who is disgusted by Paul's decision to add fruits into his diet. Just do what works for you, and he'll do what works for him. Let's all accept each other and share the love, man.

If SSRI are so bad or useless, how do you explain this : two weeks ago, I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety disorder (after 1 month of suffering) and prescribed Escitalopram. Several hours after the first 10 mg dose I became perfectly normal. In fact, I felt excelent to this day. Before, I did a bloodwork. My seric serotonin was 40.76 ug/L, in the lowest end (range between 40 to 200). So, what's your explanation ? I do workout, I eat mostly animal food, I work in nature. Don't drink, don't smoke. My experience contradicts your suppositions. I say, for me and many others, SSRI realy work and saved us.
@aspiresk8boarding2 жыл бұрын
Low serotonin is not associated with depression. However the raise in serotonin from SSRI produces pregnenalone as a protective mechanism which is beneficial for mood. In the long term it raises cortisol and adrenaline which can create feelings of well-being at first. Long term it also can down regulate production of serotonin to balance things out
@bogdanpst2 жыл бұрын
