The US monopoly system prevents Ford and Chevy from building the perfect vehicle with no carpet on the flooring and mandatory all wheel drive, and the same parts, yearly and style to keep the cost lower because the monopoly system demands that other car manufacturers need to compete, but they compete for their greedy, gold, thirsty, persona, and not for building the better product and that open the door for these Germans to build their vehicles a little bit better just so they can flex who they are but they are flexing with deception and not with intelligence, but there’s not thinkers on this planet I got clap their hands to these low-grade products and act like they are on the next level of intelligence and innovation. These people are treating everyone like idiots. Every time they put one of these vehicles on a pedestal and flex the rewards on the side and their advertisements. Mercedes will still put copper on the flooring and change the parts. They’re treating everyone like idiots, but this is what all the colleges and the US government support.

I cringe when companies bring in the "Family" mantra, especially in this context. The SL now looks like a 911 which is not distinctive AT ALL, but it is beautiful and a safe bet. Listen to your customers Mercedes-AMG and build reliable vehicles again we can trust. 100k+ for a 4-banger SL43 is not winning over any customers.

This was a great documentary, but like what other people have mentioned the editing could have been a bit better. Especially at the SPA section of the documentary...it was entirely in German. Note to the editor, that commentary is important to include a translation of. Just a mark for further improvement on an otherwise good documentary

"One man, one engine, one job." They've had their issues: bad head bolts, failed cam followers, '63' = 6.2L or 4.0L or ??, etc. "This engine built by Hans Stuttgart, and rebuilt by Cleatus MacCheeseburger". 🙂

@@carmelothegoat1892 Yes it does. It's branded as "63" which implies something it isn't. Even though it's arguably better in ever single possible way. 🙂 !!!!!!!!!! My point was only the point given. Hand built engines can have major issues. Robot built engine might well be perfectly built and bulletproof design. Hand built doesn't actually add much real value. Nobody is going to ask for a hand-wound electric motor. Feel free to disagree.

Nice 👍 But the best generation was between 2010-2020. Especially the AMG GTC-50 is a piece of art (only 500 built), being a pure AMG race car - GT while inherently being the epitome of luxury and the successor of the legendary 300 SL gull wing 🪽. Design, sound and performance at its best

I think I'd rather have someone who specialized in installing pistons install my pistons. Jack of all trades; master of none. And maybe use that German engineering to reduce the part count and increase the reliability. Occam's Razor.

AMG is just a marketing branding master strike. On the flip side it implies Mercedes as a brand weakens.AMG are aggressive, hostile, loud, annoyingly loud and contradict the Mercedes classy heritage which slowly fades …

AMG front grill is as ugly as it gets, should be rotated 280 deg, in addition that two huge front grille side openings, on every Mercedes are ugly and way too large.
