When I was little, my parents often play this song, they have been dead for a long time, but every time i hear the intro, the memories become so strong. RIP Gerry Marsden

I cant think of another song which gets me as much as this one. Brilliant decision by Gerry to release this one against the grain and he has reaped the rewards. What a great vocal.

THANK YOU BadBoyBaldy1 for uploading this magnificent version of a sparkling song by the possessor of one of rock n roll's most unique, melodious voices. GERRY & THE PACEMAKERS FOREVER! PS - My husband & I visited the Mersey Ferries while in Liverpool. A couple of local residents were highly amused by these American tourists taking photos of a river, dock and ferry boats they see all day everyday. Best Wishes, All.

badboybaldy1 - Hello. You didn't upset me at all. I have a Masters in a behavioral science and do volunteer work w/ support groups for the victims of bullies (school, home or workplace). As such, I'm always seeking to understand the reasons for people's actions. When our groups talk about therapeutic music, I suggest they look up this tune. Gerry Marsden's version is the most comforting. Best Wishes.

+Aizen Kamil back when the stadiums had atmospheres they used to play the latest songs before the game and the crowd would sing them and this song just stuck. It builds and builds and as a Liverpool fan i get goosebumps whenever I hear it. The fact Liverpool fans sing this over a Beatles song shows you its a masterpiece. Powerful, rousing emotional stuff that song its done us proud over the years
