Hey I've used this Google sheet for keeping track of my shinies since you uploaded this video. I'd like to submit some modifications. I'll probably do them myself some day I have a bunch of time ahead of me but it could be nice to have in a future version. 1) I think using 0 for "have" and 1 for "don't have" is counter intuitive and should be reversed. 2) I use living S-LivingFormLITE because I don't care about female forms in most cases. But I do care when female forms have different stats, abilites or movesets like Oinkologne, Indeedee or Meowstic. This kinda makes a blindspot for my tracking. 3) On the other side there are some I don't care about (but this is much less important than the previous points as I can just ignore them) - the forms that can be changed by items (like Rotom or Shaymin) - the forms that are basically just cosmetic so with no change in stats, ability or movesets between forms (like Floette or Unown)

It says on the news part that they plan on doing more for more dexes. So might as well try to get the dexes for all your games. Keep in mind, they have to be from the actual games. You can't just cheese it with Go mon. Hope this helps :)

I will say more: it doesn't need to from the region to count. A Blissey from Paldea would count to Kitakami too. You don't need both a Paldean Blissey and a Kitakami's Blissey. Not having the subscription and have completed the Pokédex before hand, I saw that the new Kitakami and Blueberry Pokédex started completely blank for some reason. Having to box in/box out 30 Pokémon at a time (in unsubscribed version) is quite time consuming. I used to believe I needed to have all Pokémon native from region, so I caught a ton of Pokémon already caught, leading to a logistic nightmare.

People who had a living dex way long before and did it this way, need to do it all over again in S/V, since this what Pokemon Home needs to fullfill those 3 specific Dex. If they do this in the future again with the next Gen, your current living Dex are useless for that.

For a lot of the pokemon, just breed them in the games and you'll get the mons fairly easily. The legendaries and more difficult evolutions might be an issue. But hopefully you have a way to figure that out :)

You need the native Pokemon, specifically from that region in order to complete the dex. Unfortunately this dex is different from the National one, it is tied directly to the games. That's why you didn't have Chansey even if you actually did.

People forget, when the rules say catch in that game, it also counts if you hatch. And large candies are easy to come by in mass amounts. You arent randomly hunting for every single one, took me 30 minutes to get all my starters.

The post did say "First up" in terms of specific Pokedex completion rewards so it looks like there's a possibility that they may do more of these in the future. Though it remains to be seen if this is referring to either future games exclusively or prior games available for use in Pokemon Home (Lets go, SS, BDSP, L:A, SV and L-ZA). Yeah I'm also dreading the Sinnoh Pokedex too. For Let's go the biggest obstacle are making sure to register the version exclusives and the trade evos.

Although this is speculation on my part seems weird that the Mythical they used for the Scarlet and Violet Pokedexes was the one that was also catchable through battle though required special specific steps to find in game. The only other Pokemon I can think of would be Keldeo that needed special requirements to battle in the Crown tundra.

@@kashrilakehnawala5700 From what I remember, it was an event in the dlc for Sw/Sh. We had to beat Zeraora in dynamax raids a number of times to obtain one. The requirements was to participate at at least one raid and have the Home app.

Austin a tip if you want an easier way to get a single pokemon to stand still for a thumbnail you can throw your lead pokemon out with right trigger and then push in the left thumbstick this will cause your trainer to whistle commanding the pokemon to stand in place, then you can just open the games camera and take a photo.

Thankfully, for the BDSP pokedex, it's only the 150 pokemon that are in the Sinnoh Pokedex. You do not need to complete the 493 total National Pokedex, conveniently, meaning ramanas park legendaries and even Heatran/Cresselia aren't required. Besides, you had to see every sinnoh dex pokemon to unlock the national dex in that game anyways, so it shouldn't take too long as long as you can trade with someone who has the opposite version/breed those pokemon if they're from home.

FYI, the pokemon need to have the S/V origin mark for them to count. You don't necessarily have to purchase the dlc, but without it you'd have to trade/breed in order to fill out those dexes.

Three things... 1st, you mentioned opposite of a plane. Are you not using inverted flight controls? 2nd, Pokémon Home can be accessed from any switch just by opening it with your profile, only the mobile is one device only. Do you not have your account set up on the other console you're trading from? You could have skipped all the trades and transfered directly from the other saves. 3rd, when you choose to recieve the gift there's the loading icon, then the entry is grayed out, then with absolutely no fanfare Meloetta is in your box. It has a Cherish Ball and the Souvenir Ribbon, but I haven't checked if it can be renamed in game. Since it's an event Pokémon that might prevent the one free name change.

Shout out to the google sheet, made my chase for a living form dex and living form shiny dex WAY more manageable! I would recommend everyone to just load up on quick balls and go hunting over breeding, I had about 30 I needed to catch between the 3 dexes, and it took me maybe an hour to just go to their spawn point, quick ball one, and then move on to the next. Breeding especially with swapping out items etc, way harder.

Just a heads up regarding the BDSP dex. You could breed the base stage of every pokémon line you're missing and then transfer them to a game where it's less grindy to evolve them / easier to do without help (i.e. trade evolutions). For example, I bred a Gastly from Home so I had a new one with the BDSP stamp and then moved that into Home to register the Gastly and then into PLA where I had a bunch of Exp Candy, then back into Home to register the Haunter, then back into PLA to evolve it into Gengar using the Linking Cord, then back into Home to register the Gengar. You only end up needing to play BDSP to breed for the stamp.

Important things to consider. To complete the dexes, you need pokemon from each game. Meaning that if you want to fill out Magikarp for the Sword/Shield dex it needs to be from those games. And if you want to fill out Magikarp for the Scarlet/Violet dex, that also needs to be from those games. Go mons don't work. So you'll probably need to do a good amount of breeding and catching if your games aren't full of every pokemon in the games, caught in the games. Quite annoying in my opinion, but there's nothing I can do about that. Hope this helps. Good luck 👍

for those who are still confused about the paldea dex. you need to have a pokemon caught from scarlet and violet registered in pokemon home for it to count. so transferring from another gen wont work. and that includes each invival pokemon and evolutions so while you don't exactly need a living dex of the paldea pokedex it kinda close to.

The Paldean-caught requirement is stupid, but I honestly had a little bit of fun doing it. I'm 91% complete with my true living shiny dex, and this scavenger hunt was more enjoyable than soft-resetting or eye-ruining sandwich hunts. I was able to knock out the 300 I was missing in just one night of grinding, and I found some fun wild shinies in the process.

I think that means they're finally lifting the shiny lock on the Gen 5+ Mythicals slowly. Can't wait for Victini and the PokeBall Magearna to make their legal shiny debuts as well.

Oh nice, funny timing! I was a few weekends ago filing out my dex in SV+DLC. And saw this weekend was a Version Exclusive event going on there. At least got a notification on Google, or something. @@DroBowwyou say that, but it’s people like the original comment who trade these illegal shiny/hacked Pokémon to others on wonder trade. If someone is ignorant to the fact that they’re hacked and use them in competitive, they can get their account locked off from playing online again, due to cheating. Not to mention HOME had that warning saying they’d freeze any HOME accounts that contain any illegitimate obtained Pokémon. Anyone who’d get those through wonder trade is at risk.

​@@edman9953but there is a list of Pokemon you received from trades, they will be able to see you received it from trade and wouldn't penalize the receiver. The wording says "knowingly trade or use". You can't know if it wasn't originally yours. You are right though that they get traded all the time. "I received it in a trade" is just the most common excuse people use

Just got min!! only need 2 pokemon a milotic and alolan vulpix to get mine, absolutly love your living dex been using it since you released it, currently doing the full dex with all forms, with a few extra restrictions to make it that bit harder, such as all pokemon must be in caught in pokeballs, all pokemon must come from original game (luckly my ds had all the virtual console games bank and transporter on it) all pokemon that get evolutions later in the series the orginal form must come from original game eg: my Klevor is a scyther i caught in the safary zone in kanto, i traded it all they way to legends to evolve it. Im almost complete with my living dex just need to iabout 20 more to complete. Another great video keep up the great work and like you i am dreading doing the BDSP pokedex.

Honestly BDSP isn't too hard to tackle. Just transfer stuff you need in and breed it aside from catching the legendaries. Also, I have Spinda if you need it. 😉 Let's Go and PLA were the toughest for me though since you can't breed in either. 😩

But those also have them in the game without requiring trading except exclusives. PLA's story even has you catch all the mon, so if you didn't release the mons, you'd be almost done.

2024 was my year of redoing my living dex in Home. For the last 6 months I replayed every mainline game to have an ultimate Origin-Form-Living Dex with the most possible number of Pokémon sharing my recent OT name. I also completed the crown symbol for every Software Dex in Home. Getting rewards for this now just feels perfect. I hope they will do the same for the SwSh Software Dexes and reward us with a Shiny Keldeo, since it was the DLC Bonus Mythical there just as Meloetta in SV.

Hey here's a little function I accidentally discovered yesterday that it seems you maybe didn't know about! If you hold the whistle button rather than just pressing it, it makes them stay perfectly still, allowing you to get up real close with the camera. Might be easier and more picturesque than using the washing function!

Chances are, your Chansey was from a different game like Sword and Shield for example so it counts it as a different region instead of Paldea.

When I transferred all my Sinnoh Pokémon into home, I went from 8 to 68. Hopefully you’ll have something like that or better.
