Good tutorial..... My question is when you 'lock' into the key and can play any note that sounds 'in key' ..... how are the 'right keys' recorded into a midi melody that plays back as you heard it, not as you played it ;) ?????

Man I have Scaler 1, and upgraded to Scaler 2. They both worked on Win 7, but I had to get Win 10 and Scaler 1 works, but Scaler 2 won't. I have tried everything. But to my surprise a lot of people is going through what I am. I'm trying to figure out why won't Scaler 2 load on my computer. I will try my laptop later tonight. It's a dope program, I love it. Hey bro ... words cannot fully express how valuable this video was ... Thanks a Million... I am extremely new to the concept of Music Theory and currently learning as much as possible. So i have watched a lot of videos already on the 12 keys and such within each octave and the circle of the fifths and bro please i really need any advice you can give me with what i am really trying accomplish because i still am missing some parts to the whole puzzle. I use reason to make beats and within one of the racks called nnxt you can see what root key every instrument is in. Therefore if i see the root key of that instrument i like or synth sound i then look up the charts for the other keys in that octave that match. My dis connect is trying to match other instruments in other octaves to match that. Now that i see this scaler plugin for chords ... would you say just write down what other chord octaves it gives me and just find those other instruments with the same key notes? I am just trying to be clear because i was thinking how its easy at times for me now to get the first set of keys in the same octave but if i want to add a base sound or another note it takes me forever to find out what matches. Can 3 different chords be the same as 3 different instruments? I pray i am not sounding complex about what i am trying convey but i really wish someone made a video showing making a beat from scratch using the instruments inside of the sound packs on how to match them using music theory. .......Any advice would be highly appreciated. Oh and do you think it would be smart to organize all of my instruments in folders according to the matching keynotes?

Matching octaves is a mere matter of personal choice. It doesn’t matter what octave you pick as long as it’s in the right key. And you shouldn’t be struggling at all to find the key of other instruments. You only need one key for an entire song. That’s the whole goal. For all instruments to be in the same exact key because if you have different instruments playing different keys it’s not going to sound good. So yea whatever the key you start with is, stick with that. And that’s it. From there you can vary with the octave as you wish. Octaves are just higher and lower registers for the same key.
