If you try a 40% urea cream on your feet you will not have to worry about filing and scrap ing and Vaseline . thanks. You inspired me to be more diligent. With my feet👣

I used to long distance run and had crazy callouses on my big toes. I swear by soaking my feet in apple cider vinegar (organic w the mother) and water. Optional to add Listerine to help w the smell and to add another antiseptic property. When I dry them off I will apply a cream with urea in it. Effective and very cost effective. Oh…and while soaking I use a scrubby exfoliating cloth to remove the loosened skin. Swear by this process❤❤

@@SkinObsessedMary You’ll love it. The natural acid exfoliates & helps to deodorize the feet too. Not to mention it helps to kill nail fungus, etc. The first time I did it, I was in love w how my feet felt. So refreshing. Let me know what you think!

What perfect timing, thank you. I get lazy and let my feet go then I have to start over. I also file my feet, rinse and while still damp use L’Occitane pure shea butter (make sure it’s pure shea butter and not the other one) and a sock. Love what this does! Just wish I wouldn’t get lazy and let them go!

LOL Mary..I chuckled watching this video because foot care is sorta taboo to most because NO ONE likes feet LOL..BUT I have found myself as I have gotten more “mature” my foot care really has had to take center stage. THANK YOU for the great tips, and for tackling this topic. I also use Kerasal foot ointment about 1-2 nights a week, which really helps break down the crusties…I will for sure give your “formula” a whirl!!

I use castor oil. Another thing I do during the “full shoe months” is salicylic acid peels. OMG, I’m almost addicted to them. Once your feet peel they are so soft and smooth.

@@SkinObsessedMary I live in Canada so I get one from a drug store here but Baby Foot, from Amazon, is a really good one. I leave it on for two hours. I think the package direction says an hour but the longer you leave it on the sooner the peeling process starts. Here’s a DIY one (I haven’t used it) kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmnRoZuefKuVl7Msi=fLMYELHmfYyusZ7l I started using castor oil on my skin March 1 as an experiment. Wow. I’m 69 years old. Even family members noticed something different about my skin at Easter dinner. I’ve even noticed a reduction in the creepy skin on my arms. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

@@SkinObsessedMary Both. Like i mentioned, I’m 69, need lots of help. 🤣🤣🤣 It really does seem to be a panacea. It’s thick and goopy but … I mix it with a carrier oil like vitamin E for my face and neck (or my regular serums). I use jojoba or almond oil to mix with it on the rest of my body or my regular moisturizers. I’ve only been using it since March 1 and my skin is sooo soft.

I inherited my mom's predisposition to super dry desert cracked heels. My calluses were THICK. Thought I was stuck with them forever. I also used to hate socks, which I never realized was exacerbating my problem. Enter my 80 lb weight loss and now all of a sudden I'm cold all the time. Kinda bad when you're living in Alaska with its 7mos of winter😂. The result? All of a sudden I like socks...lol The compression kind feel good on my legs so I wear them during the day and toward bed time I'll walk around in soft socks. The good news for me is I have come to dislike open-toed shoes/sandals for the most part because they will dry out my feet worse. Thus I wear athletic shoes with socks or house slippers with socks. My feet-related skincare routine during and after my shower consists of washing/exfoliating my feet with a glycolic acid body wash followed by applying a glycolic acid/lactic acid/urea containing foot cream and using an occlusive to lock it in before I put my socks on. It has worked very well. At the beginning of this journey I used to have to file down my calluses with a foot file like you've shown here but now I never have to because my feet don't get dry and cracked anymore as long as I'm keeping up my routine! I've gone through an entire Alaskan winter without ONE crack! This is a miracle I never thought possible. I use CCS Swedish Foot Cream, Balea Fusscreme, Prequel's Foot Rescue Ointment and basically any glycolic acid containing cream (replenix, skin fix, and naturium are what I have around right now). I'll apply my creams right after showering and get those socks on. Oh and I'll get pedicures about once every eight-ten weeks.

First of all....I couldn't hack the Alaskan winters 🤣 And it sounds like you've nailed a fab foot routine! I know I definitely need to wear socks and shoes more but I just can't seem to five up my flip flops :(
