Other that the "pound of nitrogen per thousand square feet" nonsense, not a bad video. I have Tractor Supply Co. Groundwork Premium Tall Fescue. Beautiful grass. Going for totally weed free this season. Fingers crossed.

I must have a hybrid Fescue mix because my lawn is surviving 100 plus here in S. Cal. On the other hand my 2 agapanthus plants...dead.

Can i ask what your lawn care program is like.? I planted ttf last fall and am concerned about upcoming summer. Last year it nearly killed my 3 pygmy palms.

mark y....It was never discussed or implied that a fescue seed would not survive in heat. It was only stated that fescue grass does not perform well in heat; as it is a cool weather seed and grows best in cool conditions (55-80) degrees Fahrenheit. Your fescue grass will easily survive the harsh summer heat as long as you have a good root system, water and fertilizer the grass.

It's 2017 and my lawn is suffering from the death touch of drought. I'm in central Illinois and my lawn is a year old and my dirt is mostly clay. I'm starting to wonder if it will make it through the summer.
@robertswift61017 жыл бұрын
it will if you water it enough
@oscarevans39665 жыл бұрын
@@robertswift6101 ... Not true. If the soil is mostly clay like mentioned, you can water all you want and it will hardly matter. The soil/clay needs to be aerated, as its likely severely compacted. This will promote better water to the root system, consumption of needed nutrients. Otherwise, the water and nutrients will sit on top of the clay or drain off. Trust me!!

Add gypsum it will break up the clay to allow better water drainage and nutrient absorption. Its 7 bucks a bag at Walmart takes a couple months to get going

I killed my old fescue and weed lawn and seeded Blackjack Bermuda. It's the prettiest lawn in the neighborhood and I get a shorter mowing season.

will pelletized iron do the same job as liquid iron?
@tylercranford23507 жыл бұрын
xxhotelcrazyxx it should do it with no problem
@lennykrapitz47944 жыл бұрын
Same results, except liquid (in my opinion) is better because it works on the actual blades of grass. You don't need to water it in like pellets.
@lennykrapitz47944 жыл бұрын
Though, pellets give more of a prolonged effect as it slow releases.
