I am a WomenHeart Champion and have been running a support group for women living or at risk of heart disease. And what Dr. Beckerman mentioned about the importance of supporting each other in our heart journey is so true.

............ *Hey* ........... There are two things to consider here....... *First* : All heart diseases and diabetes issues are lifestyle and diet disorders. Just wonderful, I have been researching "steps to prevent heart disease" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Meyhristian Astounded Mastery - (just google it )? It is a smashing exclusive guide for reducing your cholesterol and unclogging your arteries minus the headache. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my brother in law got cool success with it.

Thanx for this sharing ! Good courageous guy. We need to learn to do things by LOVE and not force. Each avatar of god is sovereign on his personnal journey of life, but "Loving ours like yourself, or loving yourself like others" is a good christian basic rule to follow. Peace & love

I haven't watched the tedtalk yet. It had a un-skippable ad beforehand, so i skimmed the comments for a bit. IF this guys missing ingredient to a heart healthy life is happiness. I will be so angry. happiness isn't easy for the people who it isn't easy for. Ppl who say its easy are the initially happy people that are already happy. But for an unhappy person, its hard. otherwise we'd already be happy. Yes, i am an unhappy person, with an unhealthy lifestyle. I want to learn how to be healthy. But if the prerequisite is happienss, i will give up now. I can become healthy and maybe possibly learn to be happy, but if its happiness first then healthy seems so far away and unreachable if the first hurdle is a mountain.

oh good, not the 'happiness' baloney. But community/volunteering. Which i can understand the advantages. Not gonna do it. I just want lower cholesteral, not feed the hungry. But at least he isn't say - just be happy.

Humans evolved as closely connected groups and being alone was a death sentence. When you isolate yourself your body just gives up after sometime because it thinks there is no way i am going to survive this so why fight this Hard?? Maybe?

Thanks. Love your blue sky stuff. Cute about people trying to do their best with sick relatives. Not real. But cool. Something you may have not discovered. That is people who are stage 4 heart disease or stage 4 cancer find out that no one is really interested in helping. It does happen. A lot. Medical docs will give out 18+ prescriptions. Make in person appts every 9 to 11 months. And phone talks with psychological nurses every 6 weeks. Family members every 8 to 12 weeks talk with you. See if you have made arrangements for body disposal and money transitions. Again, lots of people say this never happens. But it does. Try a Teds Talk on the reality people dying from disease face. Thanks.

What's wrong with 'self-help'?
@anthroproach
@anthroproach 2 жыл бұрын
People are less motivated in isolation. We did not evolve to be self-disciplined/motivated, we evolved to work in teams and communities. You can still make big changes with self help and self motivated programs but the research shows community help is more effective:)
