I have to say, I flinched in your opening cut scenes, when your wife pulled the wheel off, by holding the wheel spoke. Easy way to mangle your hand on the disc, especially if the car is a good distance off of the ground. I might have a heightened spidey scene! 🤨 🇦🇺🤜🏼🤛🏼🍀😎

I notice you are in gloves and you have poor Leanne gloveless! They defo need to invent a workshop glove that caters for nails. Romy has the same interest level in cars as your wife so it’s me or the RAC doing the wheel change😂

Yeah, she was a little nervous as to how it would be received, but she is happy seeing all these positive comments, thanks!

@@BWSTT She deserves nothing but respect as thats alot of nerves and courage to do that... More courage than me, I would have stated making YT videos long ago if I had that much 🤣😂🤣 If I ever do, I will do drone footage where I am still not in the shot and film everything interesting without me in it 🤣😂🤣 Have a great day tomorrow buddy, and thanks again for all your help and saving my hind 👍🏻🍻🙏🏻 All the best to you and yours Merry Xmas 🎄🍾🎄

I think fair enough, your wife did as you asked, she didn’t complain, didn’t ask to do it in the dry and she learned how to do a basic breakdown task. I think perhaps changing a wheel in the cold and wet wasn’t going to make her a convert but perhaps taking her to a meet might spark a little enthusiasm. Like the wheels and the vid 👍👍

Yeah, maybe a nice 6 am start to get to a car show will get her into the scene!

LEANNE did brilliantly, and just knowing how it is done means she can help on an emergency wheel change even if somebody does the heavy lifting.👍
@BWSTT9 ай бұрын
luckily her wheels aren't as heavy, so if the need arises she should be fine

It always surprises me, how many car owners cannot change a wheel, funny it always needs to be changed in the rain too. It is always good to know how to do this especially if you're stranded in the middle of nowhere. Your wife did a great job Byne :)

She did ace! hopefully she never needs to do this, but if she does at least she can now

Nice wheels. Wife did well mate. Even got the star patten on the first part with impact. Mine would not have done that 😂 maybe next time she’ll be allowed gloves. 👍
@BWSTT9 ай бұрын
nah, gotta keep it true to an emergency situation, where there will be no gloves!

It’s good to see you are empowering your wife, so she doesn’t have to be dependent on others to do this job.

No doubt she will still get me to do it, but i don't mind, that's what i'm there for

yeah i think they really suit it, and Leanne gave it her all!

If anything it’s a Good workout… muscle building.🤙☮️ You need to get some good heat proof gloves. Good for the cold too.😊 Girls should know how to change their own wheels. Here in Australian outback it could save your life. 50C in the day and zero at night.

A good new years channel resolution would be to have some references to workshop manual. Like “This is what the manual says to do”. Audis not having wheel studs stick out is good. 🧐 You should of used the wheel holder tool to take the wheel off. Constructive criticism 🇦🇺🤜🏼🤛🏼😎🍀

Leanne did a great job and she did it for you 👍🏻 well done to her. Remember when you first went fast in your first car and it got you excited enough to turn you into a petrol head....thats what she needs first really. Get her on a track with an instructor and watch the smile on her face and hopefully she might want to start tinkering👍🏻

Question for you: For an Audi TT MK1, Do you know of anyone that has removed the Haldex unit and made a custom drive shaft that powers the differential directly. This would provide a continuous 50/50 power split to the front and back wheels. You might lose some mileage, but you would have full time AWD. Any issues? Anyone tried? It would also eliminate another maintenance issue and drive line point of failure.
@BWSTT9 ай бұрын
There simply isn’t room for something like that on this chassis, so without massive modification this isn’t possible. Can I ask why you would want a constant 50/50 split?
@off-centerproductions62339 ай бұрын
@@BWSTT I need to think about this a little more before I can give you a rational answer. BTW, I do enjoy your videos and they have helped me immensely working on my own ‘03 MK1. Also, I’m in the USA (California) and have looked for an engine builder to remanufacture my 225 HP 1.8T (Engine Code: BEA). I’ve been told that no one in this country is rebuilding or remanufacturing these engines. Does anyone know of a place in the US that does this? Is this the same in the UK? I may even consider having the work done there and having it shipped. Thank you.
@BWSTT9 ай бұрын
@@off-centerproductions6233 if you want the option of 50/50 split, just get the HPA controller, and set it how you want it. In terms of engine building, I can’t see why no one in the USA would build one, there must be places willing to do it, maybe just need to look further afield? Plenty of places do it here, depending on what level you want to go to I have re-built a few engines myself for customers
