Getting on the Winching Revolution - Freedom Winch Line 3.0

It was time to replace our winch line and we decided to try the Freedom Winch Line 3.0 from Bleepin Jeep. With a goal of improving safety and speed, was the Freedom Winch Line 3.0 worth getting?

I have been loving it! We have used it numerous times now, in different situations, and the ease of setup is fantastic and not having a huge block of metal flying around is a major safety benefit.

I just purchased a Warn VR OV10 with a steel cable. I haven't even mounted it on my 2003 Rubicon. The first thing I'm going to do is strip the steel cable and replace it with the Freedom Winch Line.

Absolutely. I use freedom ropes on both of my winches

does it have red coloring when you get to the last few rolls on the spool?

how did you put the rope on the drum? I could not see how you did it

Different winches have different ways of attaching the line to the drum. With the Badlands winch, you feed a little through a hole in the drum and tighten down a screw, other winches might have a screw on the side of the drum to attach to. It is usually pretty obvious when nothing else is on the drum.

OK I have a Warn guess I'll have to wait to get the rope- looks great. My Scout is a bit heavier than your jeep- not sure if it will do the job- @@TrailTraveler

@@vicc6744 The Warn is the same, there is a hole in the drum that you start in. It will be pretty simple. My Jeep weighs 6,020 pounds.

Thanks, I’ve had the same winch on my scout since 1990 and (thankfully, I ve only used it twice, and this was for other people on the trail, but I’m getting…vintage and don’t wanna deal with the wire anymore, just in case
