In my country, Italy, The police caught an Ebay scammer, but could do nothing to the guy, not even get him to refund the victims because his living standards were quite low and nothing could be legally confiscated, not even his car. No one goes to jail for small crimes. The police are not allowed to supply the name and address of the scammer to avoid revenge.

I actually stopped a scam as a cashier. Some lady was on the phone while buying a card so I asked what it was for and she said insurance and immediately I knew it was some dude in Dubai trying to get money from her, and she ended up not buying it but it took a ton of convincing, cause as a cashier, I can't stop her from purchasing anything. A scammer tricked my grandma into believing her computer was infected and that she owed a lot of money. He got a lot of her personal info and then made her go to the gas station in the middle of the night to buy gift cards to pay off her debt. She couldn't bus and she doesn't drive so she had to walk! In her pajamas and slippers!! this was about two years ago but it still makes me angry. The scammer told her to keep him on the line while he told her what to do. The cashier at the gas station could tell something was up and so he asked if he could talk to whoever it was she was calling. So she handed him the phone and he just cussed the scammer out and hung up before telling my porpor she got tricked. Huge respect the cashier and you too for helping strangers out like that. Since that incident, my family regularly sends videos like this and also articles about the latest scam to our family whatsapp.

I got scammed this Christmas 2023 by Indian scammers pretending to be 02 customer service...they hacked into my bank account and scammed £3,000...both my 02 account and bank account are now in the hands of investigators...yesterday new year's eve, I received my bank statement to see that the investigators have retrieved my money...keep up the good work...watching from the south east of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

When people outside India have to single handedly do this task instead of an entire division of police assigned to it, News channels will definitely be interested in bringing this to the masses on prime time TV. I recently got a moving scam when I had to move, they overcharged me by a ton, broke most of my stuff, and hired third party moving company workers to move my stuff. The company I hired actually hired 3 workers to do the job, which was less than the 5 they said would show up, they were also from 3 different moving companies wearing 3 different moving company shirts. They basically spent 4 hours standing around doing nothing, even requested that I buy them lunch because that was "part of the deal". The company also charged me for "insurance" then when I attempted to claim on the items that they completely broke, the person in charge said "It was all old crap anyway, do you have any proof that it wasn't already like that?" which I did, and then after many months of hounding them every day I managed to get a single desk replaced. They also broke about 3 TV's, a display cabinet, a few chest of drawers, two PC monitors, and my brand new $500 desk that they claimed was "old and crap/already broken". Ended up costing me $3000 to have 3 assholes break half my shit and fairly certain they stole a few things out of my garage too.
