I'm glad to hear that you had a great birthday!!! I'm also so very glad to see the progress on the Roadhouse, I can't wait to see it finished. I want to share a story with you about one of my friend's houses. We had a very bad thunderstorm, and lightning struck a utility pole, knocking power lines down. One of his neighbor's (municipally owned) trees actually caught fire as a result of the lightning strike causing a power line to land in pooling water. Because the fire departments were tied up with other emergencies, they couldn't get to this fast enough. The tree fell over, landing on my friends house which, not only crushed a part of the house, but also set the house on fire, everything was lost. By the Grace Of God, they were out of town, and completely out of harms way. The reason I'm sharing this with you is because, many of us long time subscribers remember when wildfires threatened your property a few years ago. I'm sure that every one of us would hate to see fire damage or destroy your home. I know how much Jamie and you love your trees, but you also need to protect yourselves, and your home. I would like to suggest that you at least consider removing any of the trees that could impact your home if they fell over.

I'll be reducing the tree sizes, just didn't want to clearcut everything until I had the house in place.

@ClassicTruckRescue2 ай бұрын
It seems I can't make everyone happy. People claim when I work on the Ranch and people complain when I don't. Truck builds are coming Richard. That's why I'm putting a foundation under a garage right now. I'm just tired of building trucks in tents. I'm sure people who do builds can appreciate that. Thanks for your patirnce.

I was liking seeing the concrete trucks leaving at the end!!! And if you need those pockets to get the beams out cut the concrete ASAP before it gets to hard and more difficult to cut!!! Unless they have another way of getting them out that I don’t know about!!???? It’s all falling into place nicely Rick!!!! ✌️👍 !!! See you in the next episode when Mark has KK running around getting them beams out from under the house!!!

Did they not have to dig and put footings in below freeze level? When I did forms for foundations when I was young we had to did and pour footings. Then we formed on top of those. You’re moving right along
@azspeedbuggy2 ай бұрын
I was thinking the same thing about the footings below the freeze line...we shall see...

My house in the uk doesn't have footings it set on a bed of lime it's been up for 80 + years still going strong

Looking good, glad to see things are moving along really fast on the road house. One comment -- that big tree that is right up against the smaller piece of the road house (at 2.29 minutes in the video), it will give you problems in the future, just too close to the house and foundation.
@ClassicTruckRescue2 ай бұрын
I will be reducing the size of that tree.

Rick I hadn’t seen a video of yours in quite a while again and couldn’t figure out why I hadn’t gotten any notifications for new videos from you and started to worry about you!!! I looked up your channel again and found that KZbin kicked me off your subscriber list so I had to resubscribe again so hopefully KZbin will notify me again!!! Now I have quite a few videos to watch and catch up on for sure!!! I figured maybe you had been very busy and didn’t make any videos trying to get your house up and ready to live in before winter!!! Sorry I missed some videos buddy but I will definitely get caught up on the ones I have missed over the past 3 to 4 months for sure buddy!!! I have been a long time subscriber of yours and always will be!!! Awesome video for sure!!!!!
@ClassicTruckRescueАй бұрын
Well...we are glad to have you back and you definitely have a LOT of progress to see in the videos you've missed. Thanks for taking the time to reconnect, we hope you enjoy the videos in the future and we appreciate your long-time Viewership.

Did they put support pillars under the center of the house or are they using metal "I " beams for support? Looking good keep sharing the progress, I know it's way farther along than your videos. God Bless be safe

Rick are they going to leave pockets for sliding the beams out from under the house???? I’ve seen concrete guys put styrofoam in those areas and fill it in after the house is dropped!!!???
@mark-wh2qc2 ай бұрын
Very strange looking way of building foundations, they look to be sitting directly on the top soil.
