Terrific video, as always! Wish I'd watched something like this before buying a bunch of Bloodbound that I'm not super excited about painting haha

Thanks Chris. Khorne is a great army to get started and it’s very forgiving with painting and playing. Who would your next army be after Khorne?

Hi and this is a breath of fresh air, so many thanks for your experienced input... much appreciated. I've Just bought Soul Wars, never played AOS before and have assembled a few of the brilliant models already. The nearest I've ever got to AOS is Blackstone Fortress I guess. But just like yourself, owning the old days Warhammer Quest, Advanced Heroquest and the whole of Talisman Edition 4 along with all of its expansions, you would think that understanding AOS rules and building all of their armies up, would be a piece of cake, but I'm 58 and my brain now absorbs rules very slowly :-)) But I feel totally confident that following all of your content, will help me enormously. The way that you have presented this video in step by step easy to follow guidelines is a great welcome, because as you quite rightly say, there is vast amounts of content on the net that can be very overwhelming. I'm really looking forward to the journey with your help and as GW are the absolute kings of delivering models with excellent detail, I best get started. I've just liked, subscribed and hit the bell, once again many thanks.

Heya. What a great introduction to Aos. I like and agree with your links, especially 2+tough, and beginners will probably find many others doing a quick search. Also, I find that Podcasts are a really good source, like Heralds of War who just featured a wise and friendly aussie. Pro Painted Podcast for the hobby aspect. Point Hammered for mature and high end sophisticated output. Aos Shorts for getting better, fast! Facehammer, Garagehammer, Age of the Hammer, and so on. Not only are there a lot good podcasts, but this also let's you delve into warhammer whilst on the go. Found yourself your first army? Do a Podcast search for that army and listen away. Thanks for the good video, and I'll be looking forward to your next.

Couldn’t agree more Kasper! I have a long list of podcast I subscribe and listen to, along with Twitch and traditional bloggers. We’re really spoilt for choice, however; there might be too much information for a new person to digest. Heralds of War, Mortally Wounded, Triump Table and AoS Shorts are incredible podcasters for the ANZ region. I did hear Heralds had a handsome smooth talking guest recently ;-). Do you have a favourite podcaster or source of information?
@Weedaxxe6 жыл бұрын
AoS Coach Right, there's just so many choices, I have on average a new podcast episode every second day, which makes finding a favourite really hard. As a beginner, I would give the Pro Painted Podcast episode 6 a listen for great and beginner friendly hobby tips. And being knee deep in a new army to paint my mind is all about hobby at the moment. For how to play, I'd have to say Aos Shorts, there are good pieces of advice that covers a broad spectrum of the game. When you, as a beginner, have found that new army I'd go for a Battletome Review on Facehammer. Later on I would include as many Podcasts, if not all, and then snipe the episode you'd want to hear. Living in Denmark, chances are I won't get to play in Cancon anytime soon, but hearing about the community and meta down under is great fun while hobbying away.

Hey Mate. I’m based out of Sydney so sadly not. It’s hard to justify domestic travel for a 1 day event. I will be at Sydney Slaughter and Melbourne’s Ardfists

I am looking to get into sigmar since my local group is going to. I have a king of brettonnia from my childhood, and he is 400 pts. So cool, start of an army. Problem is, I cannot find any new models to buy. Where do I get them aside from ebay?
@AoSCoach6 жыл бұрын
Great to have you back in the game Wizo. Legitimate Bretonnian models can be found on your traditional buying sites like Facebook groups (there are a few buy and sell groups), and eBay as you said. Due to their rarity, you’ll be paying a lot of money for them. If you want them because of your childhood, go for it! If you want to play them in Age of Sigmar and in competitive tournaments, you may find that they aren’t as strong and some events won’t allow you to bring them. Some of the range like Tomb Kings, Bretonnia, and other units no longer supported are known as “Compendium”. Their points value can be found in last years edition of the Generals Handbook. I warn you because I don’t want you having a bad experience on your return. Alternatively, you can theme them up as “free people” which is a very simplified version of The Empire. There are third party model companies who make Britton type models that would also fit. Do your research, as they may be a smaller scale from GW’s Heroic 28mm scale.

ok. Tyvm! I also saw that high elves and wood elves are no longer a thing. Is that so or are they under a different name?
@AoSCoach6 жыл бұрын
Many of the older factions were split out as sub factions. The Empire for example consists of Free People (standard troops), Collegiate Arcane (wizards), Devoted of Sigmar (warpriest/witch hunter/flagallants), and ironweld arsenal (warmachines). My next video will show you how to build a list of that helps. You can pick any units under “Grand Alliance Order” or swear an alliegance and gain bonuses like to Free People. Swearing allegiance will mean you mostly build your army from that sub-faction

So like 40k soup armies? Thank you very much. Will try to find the next video after this one. I just don't know why the models that are supposed to last you practically forever have lost value in fantasy games, but won't in 40k. It just seems.... odd.
@AoSCoach6 жыл бұрын
Hit the subscribe button and you’ll be notified of future videos. I’m an old Empire player from way back, so I feel your pain. The story has progressed significantly, so a lot of the armies have been re-imagined and it’s actually pretty exciting. I don’t know if you’ve seen what they’ve done with the Daughters of Khaine, however; they used to be the old Witch Elf models... and they made them a new and unique army. The new models are amazing and they are fun to play with and against. For now, jump in and enjoy the game. I do warn you because I wouldn’t want you to waste your money considering Bretonnia is very expensive (dollar wise)
