Ali I've recently found your podcast and I've now listened to mostly every episode! I find your voice really calming and I like that you ask the experts questions that make them simplify things further. I'm a full time artist which can get lonely, and your podcast has been my go-to lately.

The concept you're looking for around the 15-17 minute mark is patriarchy. Under patriarchy, a traditional masculine ideology mandates that men avoid anything feminine, which includes expressing your emotions AND being anything other than straight. That's how you can get teased for having a girlfriend and being gay at the same time.

Unfortunately, they can't see how emotions are not limited to the feminine.
